Square Enix hold on to a 2nd week at No1 with United Front Games’ ‘Sleeping Dogs’ (-15%).

New at No2 is THQ’s ‘Darksiders 2’ which does considerably better than the original Darksiders with 80% more units sold in week 1. Original Darksiders launched week 1, 2010 and was also developed by Vigil Games, a THQ studio. Nintendo’s 3DS ‘New Super Mario Bros 2’ (-25%) drops from a debut position of No2 to No3 this week and Sega drop one place to No4 with ‘London 2012: The Official Videogame’ (-31%) which has not been out of the Top 5 yet. A No4 position for ‘London 2012’ is a joint lowest chart placing for this title, shared with week 1 (week 26, 2012). The only other new entry this week is Activision Blizzard’s ‘Transformers: Fall of Cybertron’ at No5, which is the direct sequel to ‘Transformers: War for Cybertron’ released back in week 25, 2010, both games predominantly developed by High Moon Studios, an Activision studio.

Happy as hell about Sleeping Dogs. I bought it alongside Darksiders 2 and ended up playing SD instead. Just can't get into DS2.

Yeah, what the hell at 2 PS2 games in the Finland top 10.

It has been years since I have seen PS2 games shelved in major retailers in my country.

Finally some numbers! XD
Maybe I can make some extrapolations later. Now it's time for last week numbers

NCsoft’s hotly anticipated MMO ‘Guild Wars 2’ debuts at No1 this week, knocking ‘Sleeping Dogs’ (-38%) down to No2. Released on Tuesday and benefiting from a long running pre-purchase scheme, ‘Guild Wars 2’ records the second largest launch ever for a non-Warcraft MMO PC title, behind ‘Star Wars: The Old Republic’. It is also the first PC-only release to reach No1 in the All Formats Chart since ‘Football Manager 2011’ back in November 2010. There is no change at No3 and No4 with ‘New Super Mario Bros. 2’ (-36%) flying the flag for 3DS at No3 and ‘London 2012’ holding on to No4, sales up 4% (perhaps boosted slightly by the start of the Paralympic Games). ‘Lego Batman 2’ (-12%) manages to climb one place to No5, but ‘Darksiders II’ (-71%) slides from No2 to No6. There are 2 more new titles that make the Top 40 this week: ‘Madden NFL 13’ new at No7 and Namco-Bandai’s JRPG ‘Tales of Graces F’ on PS3 new at No14. ‘Transformers: Fall of Cybertron’ (-39%) drops 3 places to No8, ahead of ‘Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier’ (-5%) which has never dropped out of the Top 10 since it was released 15 weeks ago. The Top 10 is rounded off by the return of ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’ (+84%) which is back in the Top 10 (up from No17) after a 3 week absence.

Another great week for both Sleeping Dogs and NSMB2, OUCH @ Darksiders 2.

EDIT: Graces F 14th!

...Wut. Seriously?

I mean, didn't debut at lower number than Tales of Graces did?

I am only Extrapolating...

Edit: It charted at 6th. I am wrong on all front. What about Theatrythm?
Edit: Yep, Theatrerythm charted at 19. That was the title I meant.

So what? I was just joking, such position has very low numbers, probably two years it would not have charted at all with the same amount of copies.

So no-one noticed that Chart-Track accidentally posted first week numbers for London 2012? :p

Germany and Sweden with PC domination. Dissapointed with only one retail PC game on the UK charts, I guess more people are buying digital?

I suspect so; the last physical PC game I bought was probably Dawn of War 2 even though about 75% of my games budget is PC games.

Calculated (90%):

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes:

25: (45,634)
26: -17% (37,876)

June: 83,511

27: -30% (29,464)
28: -19% (23,866)
29: -10% (21,479)
30: -8% (19,761)

July: 94,569

31: -15% (16,797)
32: -20% (13,438)
33: +20% (16,126)

So, per platform (always 90%) till the end of July using Guardian percentages.

25 - 360: 19.622 PS3: 11.409 Wii: 6.845 DS+3DS+Vita+PC: 7.758
26 - 360: 14.393 PS3: 7.575 Wii: 6.817 DS+3DS+Vita+PC: 9.091
27 - 360: 10.607 PS3: 5.009 Wii: 5.009 DS+3DS+Vita+PC: 8.839
28 - 360: 8.144 PS3: 3.580 Wii: 3.580 DS+3DS+Vita+PC: 8.562
29 - 360: 7.518 PS3: 2.792 Wii: 2.577 DS+3DS+Vita+PC: 8.592
30 - 360: 7.312 PS3: 1.976 Wii: 1.778 DS+3DS+Vita+PC: 8.695

Doesn't quite work out, probably down to accumulated rounding errors unless I've made a mistake;

Week 29:
03 (03) [PS3] London 2012: The Official Video Game (Sega) - 6,791
04 (NE) [3DS] Kingdom Hearts 3d: Dream Drop Distance (Nintendo)
05 (02) [360] Lego Batman 2: Dc Super Heroes (Warner Bros. Interactive) - 7,518

So KH3D probably ~7k (90%) first week.

More due to a...GFK / Guardian kind of error. Batman 2 in July according to GFK/Enterbrain did 29k on 360, 17k on PS3 and 16k on Wii. But both the PS3 and Wii versions, according to the Guardian percentages, had always percentages lower than half 360's one. So, there's something off due to errors done by GFK or Guardian. However, KH3D's debut should be around 7k (90%), as you said, and so near to 8k at 100%.

London 2012 numbers should be fairly accurate anyway due to having the exact first week number, there's only a margin of error of +/- 1.5% on WK29 (16,170), and then just a further 0.5% margin of error on the platform splits.

I'm hoping Fall of Cybertron does better outside of Europe given its shoddy performance here. Game deserves to do well.

I didn't realise there was a Lego Batman 2 limited Edition, which explains the discrepency. UKIE only supply the top 4 SKU %, so those calculated batman numbers are inaccurate (I'll remove them).

Yeah, this must be the reason.

P.S. Where's last week German top 100? :P

Don't you find Darksiders II sales in the UK are very poor?

Even though Tales of Graces F has probably sold a few thousand units I'm happy to see it charting in the top 10.

I wonder if Batman Arkham City is still on there because it's a British developer? Or that enough players know about that and want to support? Do British developed games get more marketing versus other region-made games?

I remember Mafia 2 got a big marketing campaign in Prague cause it's a Czech developer.

There's so many British developed games that it's not really a big deal. It's not something the average person on the street would be aware of.

So no-one noticed that Chart-Track accidentally posted first week numbers for London 2012? :p

(90%):

London 2012: The Official Video Game’
26: (10,504)

27: +81% (19,012)
28: -19% (15,400)
29: +5% (16,170)
30: +25% (20,212)

July: 70,794

31: +88% (37,999)
32: -9% (34,579)
33: -37% (21,785)
34: -31% (15,032)

August: 109,395

35: +4% (15,633)

Ah, didn't notice until now.

Given the extrapolated London 2012 totals, we know this week Darksiders II did lower than 15,633. So, since it had a 71% drop, we can say for sure the first week has been lower than 51,7k.
