Why people slurp??

Made an agreement with another GAF member, refused to honor it because he was broke, but then had no problem continuing to buy video games.
It's simple, why people slurp not only hot beverages but anything from soup to pudin.

I know in Asia is some culture stuff, but outside Asia I just don't get it. You can have a good meal and not make horrible sounds!

Most people do not have an irrational hatred for a slurping sound. I'm sorry you do.
 
Slurping is nothing. What's really annoying is when people yawn like fucking lions. You know, that stuff you see in cartoons where after they yawn a kind of clapping noise with their mouth and tongue. WTF is that shit?

The real answer is in the way we learn, we slurp or someone slurps becaus they recognized the base pattern. You can pertain this question to pretty much anything

why do people walk
shit on a bowl
sleep in a bed
go to work
spit
clap their hands
jump rope


its all the same

Why do you slurp? Why don't you shower two times a day? Why are you wearing cargo shorts? Why are you fat? Why are your jeans too long? Why don't you work hard? Goddamn, you guys are my grandmother times 10. I'm outta here.
 
Hearing people eat is one of those silly little things that make me rage for no reason whatsoever.

I just can't stand hearing someone swallowing their food or a drink, it just irks me.
 
Slurping and chewing with your mouth open are the two worst things ever. If someone is doing either of those, I just go to my room.
 
Because they are inconsiderate, uncultured pigs.

And to preempt the "it differs by culture" defense I say "then go eat with them and slurp all you want."

Slurping is natural, you have to learn NOT to slurp.
 
my girlfriend loses her shit when i slurp. I think she's going to stab me death one of these days. To be fair I'm a very loud eater.
 
I don't know about slurping but my houseguest; I can hear him eat from my room upstairs... YUCK. You know the whole lip chomping thing? Gross as fuck!!!
 
Slurping serves the very practical purpose of creating suction to ensure that the liquid makes it into your mouth.
 
I don't slurp, but I also don't see what's the big deal when someone else does it. Same goes for when people talk when they have food in their mouth.
 
The only time I slurp is when I'm trying a hot beverage, since I don't want a mouth full of acid. I can see chewing with your mouth open if you have a cold, but any other time is just rude and annoying.

Bazinga. I like slurping hot soup, eventhough I am from the western hemisphere.
And you don't slurp spaghetti because it gets sauce all over the place, eventhough the feeling of sucking in a noodle is great.
