Well, when you keep doing 10 year marathons you're obviously not going to be doing your fifth or sixth one as well as your first or second... though admittedly there's overlap and a corporation isn't the same as a person who can grow old and die, not in the same time frame anyway.

To be honest, I actually wouldn't be surprised if in the worst case scenario (where it doesn't just die anyway) it ends up being a safe place to dump digital games made for tablets and smartphones. Hardware's very similar, it has a touch screen, and for those games that actually could stand to use physical controls those can be thrown in.

Even if this just means Playstation will ensure PS Vita titles are printed & distributed for a decade, I heavily doubt it. Shit, I doubt they'll even maintain the servers for first-party online titles.

However, if they're referring to the homebrew community - then yeah, they'll be having fun with this machine for ages.

PSP is 8 years old, and is still being supported. Vita's going to have a lot harder of a time though since mobile tech has been advancing so quickly.
