Predict the bombas of Q1

With several games being delayed from 2012 into early 2013 we're coming up to three of the busiest months in recent memory as each publisher rushes their games out for the financial year end.

Some big franchises don't have anything to worry about, but I think we're going to see a lot of upsets in this quarter unless a few of them slip further. Which games do you think will be the biggest bombas? There are still independent releases like DayZ standalone and Amnesia which will probably drag a little of attention from these titles, too. I know I will be struggling to manage my budget. I've omitted Kickstarter releases because A. they're already paid off and B. many seem to be missing deadlines.

You're missing Pikmin 3. That game isn't going to bomb, though, so no biggy.

Underlining the titles I think will bomba. Not necessarily because they're bad games, these are the titles I think will not sell as well as the publishers want them to.

January

DmC: Devil May Cry (I don't think it'll sell well, but I think it'll sell enough that Capcom will be at least remotely okay with it)
Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (I haven't followed preorders for this at all, so I could be completely wrong)
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2

February

Dead Space 3
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time

Ni no Kuni has like a year long localization. Poor thing is going to bomb so bad with that kind of investment, not to mention it already bombed in Japan

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
If they put "from the makers of Layton and Spirited Away" it would probably sell a lot.. but I question how many people who play Layton own a PS3.
DmC will be a first week bomba
But will go on to outsell DMC4 lifetime

Perversely, I think the opposite will happen with Rising.
Hopefully quick enough to keep Ninja Theory alive.. I'm guessing they are hoping for a sequel with the reboot? How well did their last game sell?

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time

Maybes.

Aliens: Colonial Marines (50/50, undecided)

I think Bioshock's not going to meet expectations. Tough month (I think DS3 will kill it head-to-head), no multi, apparently troubled development. Great reviews would obviously help, however.

All the games I like, further continuing the trend that my tastes are distancing themselves further and further from the mainstream.

Guess I'll just enjoy Ni No Kuni and games like it while I can :(

I actually think Ni No Kuni and DmC will do pretty well. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, Sly Cooper and FUSE on the other hand are bombas waiting to happen.

Perversely, I think the opposite will happen with Rising.
So you expect DmC to sell more than 2.7 million copies, then? Because that's what it will have to do to outsell DMC4's lifetime sales across PS3, 360, and PC, which is extremely unlikely (not that there's any guarantee that it won't sell at all, but it won't be anywhere near that much).

Pity that we seem to be the only people expecting Rising to sell, though (if it were any other Platinum game, rather than a new console Metal Gear, my expectations would be lower in that regard).

Ni no Kuni and Fuse are certainly going to bomb.

From that list...

DMC
Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
Aliens: Colonial Marines
SimCity
Army of Two: The Devil's cartel
Fuse
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate
Rayman Legends

I love these threads. Predictions:

January
DmC: Devil May Cry - SEMI BOMB
Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch - MEGA BOMB
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 - BOMB

February
Dead Space 3 - BOMB
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time - BOMB
Aliens: Colonial Marines - BOMB
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance - NOT SURE, PROBABLY SEMI-BOMB
Bioshock Infinite - MILD HIT, DISAPPOINTS A BIT
Crysis 3 - HIT

March
MLB 13: The Show - MILD HIT
SimCity - NOT SURE
Tomb Raider - HIT
God of War: Ascension -MILD HIT, DISAPPOINTS
StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm - HIT
Gears of War: Judgement - HIT
Army of Two: The Devil's cartel - BOMB
Fuse - MEGA BOMB
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate - BOMB
Rayman Legends - BOMB

*if something big is missing feel free to point it out.

I bet DmC will sell exactly as much as previous entries, which should make it a bomba because Capcom did the entire outsourcing thing to try and increase sales. But Capcpom will spin it positively and continue with DmC2 because their offices are fueled by the burning of orphan and puppy corpses*.

*unconfirmed

DmC: Devil May Cry - I get the feeling it will sell on name alone, from what little I've seen, it looks pretty good.

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2

February
Dead Space 3 - Will sell 1 million + like the last 2 games. Is that a 'bomb'?
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
Aliens: Colonial Marines
- These games are going up against some heavy hitters and will get lost in the shuffle

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
Bioshock Infinite
Crysis 3 - These games all have name recognition and will do fairly well, Bioshock doing the best I predict.

March
MLB 13: The Show

SimCity
Tomb Raider _ Possible, depends on reviews, and word of mouth.
God of War: Ascension

StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm
Gears of War: Judgement
Army of Two: The Devil's cartel
Fuse
- I see these 2 bombing the hardest out of the list

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate - Possibly bomb?

Rayman Legends _ Won't sell alot but it will sell enough to make profit. If it is a WiiU exclusive it could do better.
