Capcom can celebrate a second title to reach No1 this year (after ‘DMC’ in week 3) with ‘Resident Evil: Revelations’ which actually shows as a re-entry at No1 - the title was originally released on 3DS back in week 4, 2012 (debuting at No6) and is now available on 360/PS3/Wii U/PC as a hi definition port.

EA’s ‘FIFA13’ continues to climb again, up another place to No2 thanks to more price promotion. Nintendo re-enter at No5 with ‘Donkey Kong Country Returns’ thanks to the new 3DS version – much like Capcom above this is a game that featured some time ago, in this case even further back as the original Wii version launched in week 48, 2010, debuting at No13 and then reaching No7 in week 50/2010. The only other new release to make this week’s Top 40 is Activision Blizzard’s tie-in to the recently released Fast & Furious 6 movie with ‘Fast & Furious: Showdown’ debuting at No14.

yeah, I must have read it wrong. Still, 14th isn't too hot in the UK and now it's top spot with a 2 year old port, awkward.

I'd say the 3DS is doing pretty well outside of Japan too.

Weakness of the Wii market [inevitable] and a perfect upswing of more 3DS titles, lower price on DKCR and the buy 3 get one free offer [which may not sound like a huge factor but does help].

Many will also have bought it for the second time because there's no motion control on the 3DS version.

It debuted in a November week, when numbers are much higher than in the rest of the year. And, as already said, it increased greatily the weeks after the debut.

10% of the RE:R sales were on WiiU. That's higher then the usual 1-2% cut the WiiU gets. So progression!!!

Btw sales are really low allround software wise. Don't think the top spot broke the 15k mark.

It seems it hasn't sold well enough to justify the port work now they've moved to FB3. I'm just impressed it can still pull 18% of the sales on a comparatively tiny userbase.

Yeah 18% is a decent portion, but how high is the actual sales number though? It could be less than 1000 units across all platforms.

I dunno. It's at number 15, which ain't great, but it has spent 28 weeks in the top 20. Cumulatively, you'd hope that made for some nice numbers, especially when you factor in digital sales.

That said, the new one isn't coming so the numbers can't be stellar.

For individual formats Revelations was No.1 when it came out.

3DS on a beastly comeback in the UK. Nice to see.

Yay for Donkey Kong, I'm considering if I should order the game and make it my first 3DS game. Already got Animal Crossing NL ordered but it's a few weeks until that arrives...

I wouldn't be so sure considering how few units need to be moved to get into No 1 in the Top40. Might drop off substantially next week.

you might want to consider original wii/wiiu version. 60 fps is nice.

I see France loves their 3DS games. Luigi Mansion must have sold pretty damn well there.

IIRC, it's always been in the first two places and the only times it wasn't first has been...because another 3DS title was first.

I'm more surprised with the sales performance of Fire Emblem: Awakening in the UK market. This is its 6th consecutive week charting in the top 40.

France has been Nintendo friendly for awhile now.

Great to see these 3DS titles chart, considering some of them were and are suffering from shortages.

For a while? They have been always pro Nintendo and Japanese media. But since the DS their love got even bigger.
