Shitty games this week.

We won by 10 on the road against a BCS opponent with the refs trying to fuck us, our arrangement for facilities use pulling out on as in some lame attempt at gamesmanship, and just not playing well in general.

I'll take it, but it might be a good thing we have a cupcake this week, we have a lot to clean up before league play.

I remember when the Florida/Tennessee game used to have national championship implications. Now it can't even make the Neogaf pickem.

Given that Wiscy was able to neutralize Sutton with a double team, I expect that Stanford will as well. However, that did leave other players open to make plays. The questions are, can Hogan shed sacks as well as Stave; I swear that guy slipped out of 4-5 sacks, and can ASU's run D shut down the edge as well as the interior. Wiscy was making hay on the outside.

Why are we not talking about the fact that the Akron helmets HAVE A ZIPPER FOR THE STRIPE ARE YOU KIDDING ME THAT IS PRECIOUS

Good thing Cal can't lose on a bye week....or can they?
Great college town. Beautiful campus. Good bars. Nice people. All of which I pretty much expected.
Out of curiosity, which bars did you hit up?
Cal's got a pretty good band, but I was astounded by how little they played during the game. Our band plays constantly, reacting to every significant play, as do most B1G marching bands. Are all Pac 12 bands this quiet? I can't imagine, since I've seen USC's, so I know they're not. Get into it, Cal Band.
Funny that you mention that - people were full of compliments for the Ohio State fans (travel well, nice people, etc...) but the one complaint I heard was that the Ohio State band was playing while the ball was in play. I wasn't at the game, so I don't know if that's actually the case, but it was mentioned a few times. As Cyan mentioned, the Cal band doesn't play much unless there's a longer stoppage.

Anyway, glad you had a good trip out to the Bay Area.
BART is terrifying.
Indeed.

Mack Brown still thinks UT can win the conference. I'm embarrassed for him honestly.
Well sure, I suppose it's possible. But the odds of them winning their first 3 conference games has to be about 10%.

OU is licking their chops.

Being ranked behind SEC teams with losses, so this is what it feels like.
Probably the shittiest thing about the SEC's reputation is that it takes 2 or 3 losses for those teams to fall out of the top 10 since they're just losing to each other.

Their end-of-season domination of the polls becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

If they didn't have to play games against conference members, SCAR would win the SEC--and, by extension, college football.

Fair ranking imo.

Honestly a bit miffed that we aren't picking the Florida game. Still a rivalry and Florida is clearly not worthy of the ranking right now. Driskel is a liability, and Muschamp is such a hardheaded guy that he won't bench him in favor of blaming the only good thing about our team; the defense.

At least my cornhole set will be up and running by Saturday. Bags would have been done if my mom's sewing machine didn't crap out. Holes are cut, but they aren't 'that' perfect. Any tips on smoothing out a few areas on the circle?

PSA.

Rutgers Star QB Gary Nova will most likely be out for the game against Arkansas after the concussion he suffered Saturday. His replacement was absolutely dreadful.

(.... go with the Razorbacks)

3-1 here we go

11-5 since that dreaded losing streak!
3:30 for a cupcake game? That's surprising

My, what a difference a week makes. A bit surprised (not really) Michigan remains in the top 15 in both polls. Was thinking 17-19 myself, even 20 wouldn't have shocked me. Was a proxy loss and everyone knows it. Need a good showing on the road now to get this horrible taste of Ohio Bowden nutbag out of my mouth.

I have faith it was a genuine case of overlooking your opponent - you're high as fuck off a ND win, and here comes a team that's genuinely, genuinely awful. I can cut them a *little* slack. Shit happens all the time, and you won; okay. Moving on. However, you best realize you lose by 20 against anyone else on your schedule you play like that again, shitbirds.

Go Blue.

I got grudge sucked!
If we can find a consistent offense, I like our chances vs Pitt, who is pretty much a straight ahead run team from what little I've seen. Once we're done with Navy, no more option.
