Week of October 28th to November 3rd, 2013.

Fighting Games Weekly is the weekly discussion thread for all things fighting games. News, events, streams, videos, players, drama, everything fighting game related.

Don't know what to watch right now? Check the FGCPros Twitch Group or Jaxel's Stream Viewer. If you want to watch multiple streams at once, you can use Jaxel's customizable multiviewer as well.

New to FGC-GAF is the FGC-GAF Index which lists the fighting games GAFers plays as a neat reference with some rough statistics to boot. To add yourself to the index, quote this post and use the survey link below. Please remember to save/bookmark the "Edit your response" link so you can edit your responses if/when you buy a game already on the list or a new game that releases in the future.

So who has all qualified for Capcom Cup so far? I haven't really been paying attention, but I'd like to watch some good SF.

-Xian (EVO)
-Sako (Treta Aftermath)
-ChrisG (The Fall Classic)
-Haitani (Tokyo Game Show)
-Alioune (Play Expo)
-Tokido (Shadowloo Showdown)
-???
-???

The last two spots will be decided by a round robin of 6 players. 4 of the six are Infiltration, Momochi, Gamerbee and Fuudo.

If Chris G is the only American in Capcom Cup...

Well, America had a good run!

SF4:

- Tokido
- Xian
- ChrisG
- Haitani
-Alioune
-Sako
-TBD
-TBD

Last two spot is supposed to be a RR among 6 players.

SFxT:

- Infiltration (Jin, Alisa)
- EG|Justin Wong (Hwoarang, Chun-Li | Others)
- EMP|NuckleDu (Guile, Zangief)
- LU|Alex Valle (Yoshimitsu, Lars)
- KS|Sethlolol (Law, Kuma)
- KS|Ramos (Vega, Cammy)
- TheZombieDriver (Hwoarang, Nina)
- EMP|Tampa Bison (M. Bison, Rolento)

UMVC3:

- Nemo
- Justin Wong
- ChrisG
- Flocker
- FChamp

The last one I made up but looks like Nemo + gods will likely make it in.

Honestly speaking the SFxT roster looks very interesting. This tournament is shaping up nicely, let's just hope the community doesn't fuck up the votes for the UMVC3 tournament.

Neo, F. Champ, PR Balrog, Ricky Ortiz, Drew Grimey, CJ Showstopper, Padtrick, and Honzo Gonzo.

SFxT should be great. 15/16 totally different characters, maybe a few more depending on Justin, as he might pull out Alisa/Elena too.

We might get some 2v2 with TZA/Kelvin and Seth/Ramos at CapCup as well. That should be hype with the cross assaults now. Wanna see Hugo be useful? 100% combo, lol.

Level|Up did last year. Sadly they won't be back this year. Focus Fire will be running the majority of the streams, and I believe APEX will also be streaming Smash there.

ah yea I remember now. Its good that focus fire hooked them up with a lot of equipment and stuff. I gotta admit cantu has done a good job w/ youma

If Chris G is the only American in Capcom Cup...

Well, America had a good run!

Chris G stands as much chance as any American in a major national tourney in the last 4 years, none. I can't quite comprehend how Chris G being there will suddenly make Americas run of losing everything in SF4 any worse.

Crazy to think who is going to make the last two spots for AE. Gamerbee, Infiltration, Fuudo and Momochi already going to the Asia finals.

Would it shock you to see Daigo or Mago go to Singapore to try to qualify.

Would not be surprised to see him flown out.

That would be cool if Chris G makes it far or even win this. Going to be some good matches.

I personally don't see any need for Red Focus and duo Ultras, the latter hardly changes much, and the former just seems unneeded, even if it's to have super moves occur more frequently in a match/round.

One thing about those changes, they don't affect the combo system at all. So matches are basically going to look and play the same except now they'll have red focus and 2 ultras.
SF4 has a pretty solid combo engine, though.
I find the combo system a little restrictive, personally.
I got used to the damage scaling in time though.
