What VR Could, Should, and Almost Certainly Will Be
within Two Years

Mike Abrash

We’ve figured out what affordable Virtual Reality (VR) hardware will be capable of within a couple of years, and assembled a prototype which demonstrates that such VR hardware is capable of stunning experiences. This type of hardware is almost certainly going to appear in short order, and the time to starting developing for it is now. This talk will discuss what the hardware is like, and the kinds of experiences it makes possible. A few attendees will be randomly selected to try out the prototype following the talk.

Valve going all in on VR. This could be really huge. Full on VR integration for Steam would be a MASSIVE boost to mainstream adoption of the tech.

Better have Oculus support too, even if they come out with their own HMD!

Oculus and Valve are about to shake things up in a big way.

Valve have apparently been researching VR for a while, so if this is the culmination of that it could be very interesting. Also Micheal Abrash is a known VR guru and has been working on 'something' for a while.

Is there going to be a joint AMD/Nvidia panel? If so... someone should ask them about cross IHV Mantle or Mantle like stuff.

This looks really interesting.
Can't wait for vids and reports from this event.

Also going to be interesting to see the pricetags/configs of the Steam Machines.

Press won't be there. We can only hope Valve will upload vids later and the attendees share their experience.
