Forza 5 for $39.99 on Amazon

Strongly considering this now. Would never buy any of the microtransactions but a poster in the OT said that a patch made grinding far less excessive.

Easily worth the price.

I like it better than GT 6 (I own both). Forza looks great, the cars handle very realistically, the customization is great, and the AI (Drivatar) is a lot of fun.

The "grind" isn't much of a grind at all. Personally I have no need for 1200 cars, as I'd never drive 1200 cars. I like to get to know a car and actually use it more than a few times. The microtransaction thing is blown out of proportion. use it if you want, if you don't, you don't have to. It's not a good sign of things to come (in all video games), but in this case for this game, it's not a big deal. Personally, seems like a lot of complaining from people who don't even own the game and have never played it.

Yeah, some of the tracks get repetitive, but personally I like getting to know tracks, so I get better at driving on them.

In Gt6 the cars don't show realistic damage, act like bumpers cars upon collison, and don't offer any real challenge in their handling. Yes, there are more cars and tracks...But the AI sucks..

Bottomline, Forza for 40 is easily a buy if you own an XBox One!!

No offense but that complaining is what essentially fixed the game. The grind isn't bad now but it was horrendous before.

Shame MS doesn't price match. I'd so buy the digital version if it were that cheap. I'm finding myself going digital on the one this gen minus Halo 5 and possibly titanfall.

Wow..what a deal. I do not own a X1 but my neighbor has X1 along with Ryse and Forza 5....and a few other games but Forza 5 looks pretty nice and of course if you are a fan of racers it is definitely worth 40 bucks, no doubt about it. It is more of a cross-gen game graphically but still nice looking. I played it for a total of around 3 hours thus far.

Gt6 the cars don't show realistic damage

No car game actually shows realistic damage, it will probably make the game very difficult to build. I honestly don't mind about damage as I try not to actually bump into other cars (driving clean) if you want to bump into cars maybe play Need for Speed Rivals (Maybe Destruction Derby and MotorStorm have came close)

OT: I picked up Forza 5 limited edition on ebay for 50 bucks so its around 40 not back can't wait to play this since I plated Rivals on PS4.

God help me, I bought it.

Wanted to wait for Horizon 2 and I have too many backlog games already. I want to look at pretty vista cars.

Wait, what? Why not Halo and Titanfall? MP games being digital are a must.

I honestly don't understand why people pay full retail prices for digital games that don't have to factor in transportation, manufacturing and disc production costs.

I'm all for a digital future as an inevitability, but what would be amazing is if digital games were cheaper than their physical counterparts, even by $10 or so.

What a fucking bargain.
Game is amazing with the only genuine criticism being the lack of content
.. The reduced price kind of negates that negative.

Any way to get this deal digitally? Had my xb1 for three weeks and haven't bought any retail games yet.

Insert rant about losing DRM/license swapping here.

Is the game any good if you're not a racing sim fan? I've barely played any racing sims due to needing to know how to handle driving the cars correctly, so does it have a beginner-type mode where you can build your skills up?

it has quite a few assists to ease people into the experience, but i'm not sure how much fun such driving would actually be. if you have a 360 try out the fm4 demo.

Heh, in Bizarro Alternate TImeline 2013, this $39.99 Forza 5 disc at Amazon would actually be the digital version
of course, with other restrictions
.

While it could use some AA while running around the tracks at 60fps...I wouldn't call it cross-gen graphically. The assets are incredible throughout the game.

Now upcoming sims certainly seem to be pulling the same, or better, in some places but Turn 10 did a good job with new hardware at launch.
