Woah, this reminds of the early disney cartoons.
 
I actually like the interlacing look, although I do agree it would be nice to be able to turn it off.

Hopefully it'll be fun.
 
Gotta drop the scanlines. I read what the creators are trying to go for in the other thread, but it just doesn't work with this artstyle. Film grain and whatnot is fine, scanlines stand out like a sore thumb.
 
Wow! I have never seen this before, the artstyle looks incredible! Hopefully the game itself delivers, though; the trailer looked really lacking in interesting gameplay.
 
If anything the interlacing should be an option. I dont think the brothers at MDHR want people spewing projectile vomit at their monitors.

This games artstyle is the bees knees, feels really authentic to the era which isnt something people going after this type of art can always nail quite right.
 
Kill the interlacing and replace it with an old, worn filmstrip filter instead -- grain, those little lines that crawl around, the marks in the corner of the screen that tell you to change reels -- the works. That seems like a more appropriate 'old-time' filter anyway (plus, they could make the film strip melt/catch fire when you die. That would look awesome!)

Other than that, I need this in my veins immediately. It looks absolutely stunning so far!

EDIT: honestly, I'm shocked it's taken anyone so long to try and emulate the old 1920s/30s animation style in a game. It seems like a perfect fit, and this game looks to capture the essence of that near-flawlessly.
 
I never thought I'd see a game that looked just like an old Fleischer cartoon, these guys have good taste.

It would be interesting to see a more adventurey/rpg kind of game in this style too. Wow.

Animation is awesome, the music not so much. It feels like the composer was trying to do something jazzy without having the chops to pull it off. And it certainly doesn't sound like 1930ies jazz or a cartoon soundtrack from that era. Then again, that won't be easy. The people writing cartoon soundtracks back then were incredibly talented. Best thing to do is sample lots and lots of music from that era (almost all of it is non copyrighted) and get creative.
 
Looks pretty cool. I may have t buy it on artstyle alone.

Any info on what this game is? Looks like a fighting game but I'm unsure.

Stalling wasn't really around during Fleischer's golden age. That said, it's going to take some serious skill to top what the artist's done here.

Game looks very appealing, especially because the developers are going for a boss-rush experience. Have you played Alien Soldier, Chad? If this is gonna be like that game, you're doing everything right. I just hope this world map's cool too.

Its a run n gun/boss rush game inspired by Megaman, Contra Hard Corps and Gunstar Heroes.

All I (and anyone else) needs to know.
 
I thought this thread was in the wrong section until I read vanwinkle's post...had to do a double-take!

Awesome style! Dumb name. Cupshazzle is better.
