inFamous Second Son Walkthrough Out - Spoiler thread of Spoiling things

I thought this was going to be about a physical strategy guide book :lol.

I'll give this video a bit of a watch to satisfy my curiosity, then I'll just wait untl getting the game next week after that.

I opened it and jumped randomly to a spot in the video . . . and landed on a 2D comic cutscene . . . ooooooooohhh yeaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!

Shit. Must resist the urge.

I really can't wait for this game. Another game where I don't care how many people hate it because I know I'll probably like it. Infamous 1 was a rough but enjoyable game and 2 was a huge improvement, so I'm eager to see what this one does for the series.

for those brave souls who watched: hype or no hype?

I'm not much of an Infamous fan and I'm kinda borderline on getting the game so I watched it. Beautiful presentation and much much improved voice acting/storytelling over the first two games.

Hype.

Hype.

Combat is polished and refined from what we've been told

The Last of Us level production values in acting and choreography (wouldn't be surprised if some guys from ND head over and helped actually).

So... infinitely better than the first two, basically andI loved those so hype, hype and hype some more.

Absolutely massive improvement in storytelling for Sucker Punch.

Kinda impressed...

That's great news. I love the gameplay, the setting, and a lot of other things about the inFAMOUS series, but story-telling was always one of the weaker elements with very few cool moments (although the few that were there were pretty cool).

I'm convincing myself not to watch this though. I never go on a blackout for a game but SP has put a lot of effort into keeping a lot of the game a complete surprise so I don't want to ruin it for myself since I've asked devs for a long time to stop showing every little thing off about their games.

hype

Thanks

i just bought one and opted for expedited shipping.

Did you get an extra one for me?

I tried putting you on the spot but I don't think it worked. :D

I don't want to see the whole thing, but from the first few minutes I know presentation wise (visual) / story telling are an upgrade to me :)

Dude, seriously. Absolutely riveting story just within the first 25 minutes.

Also a visual stunner (duh!) and great, smooth animations.

But what about The Last of Us level of production values actually during gameplay? Any dynamic camera angles during gameplay ala Uncharted 3 desert pan? Any "Giraffe" moments?

It's hard to say at this point, please everything bear in mind that when I said, and meant, that it is for the cutscenes mostly.

The gameplay looks fantastic so far though, the animations on Delsin are superb not just during cutscenes but we do already know that. When Delsin is running he also responds to situations, for instance the player fell into shallow water and Delsin responded 'cold, cold, cold' as he moved out of it. The angles changed slightly when Delsin was climbing and as we've seen he does some awesome movements when dashing, going out of smoke vents, etc... but it mostly retains the over-the-shoulder style.

You should have told me before i ordered.

I will get you next time.

Man the thing about early releases is avoiding spoilers on Twitch chat rooms... There's Final Round this weekend, I hope no one ruins it there :( I have to resist.

That's why I don't do streams often. I learned after the first BioShock game that if you give trolls the chance, they'll take it.

I don't do media blackouts, but once the game has been leaked, I avoid any streams, video comments, and large forums for my own good. GAF is all I need.

It's alright, you make good burgers. :D

Watched a little bit. Couldn't care less about a cutscenes quality(they are nice though), but the presentation(effects, in game camera framing, animations, lighting) during gameplay is honestly to the level I wanted from this Gen but didn't expect for a few more years(or at least till ND.) Overall top quality, and it seems Sucker Punch can really tell a story with actual interactive segments(as opposed to passive cutscenes) like ND did with UC3 and the latter half of TLoU.

Was on the fence but am now going to pre-order first thing tomorrow. Really excited.
