Attempt #8 was not successful.
Customer Service. (Listening)
Customer Service.: Hi, my name is *****.. How may I help you?
Shinta: Hi *****, I'm Shinta.
Shinta: This is my 8th time contacting PSN customer support over the last 2 days, because no one has been able to fix my problem. In addition, no one has managed to give me a case number that works, so I have explained this story from the very beginning 8 separate times now.
Shinta: So if I seem a little insistent, that's why. I have the utmost respect for customer service employees.
Shinta: So, right off the bat, I just wanted to know if I can speak to a supervisor.
Customer Service.: I see, Shinta. I understand your concern.
Customer Service.: In this case in order to be escalated with a supervisor you will need to contact us over the phone since chat session cannot be transferred or escalated.
Customer Service.: Phone support is available from 6:00AM to 10:00PM Pacific Time, 7 days a week at 1-800-345-7669.
Shinta: Do you have a supervisor? Are you, or anyone else there able to contact this line instead to report this issue? Because I have called the line several times, and they put me on hold for 30 minutes multiple times each call and then transfer me to a different department.
Shinta: In addition, they specifically told me that a game is not cross-buy when it is and wouldn't listen.
Shinta: So I have a link to a thread I started on NeoGAF, a video game forum
Shinta: asking other people if it showed up as a free download for cross-buy, and multiple people have responded and explained that they got the game free as intended.
Shinta: and I can't give them the link on the phone
Shinta: I'd have to spell out a ton of letters
Shinta: and it just won't even work
Customer Service.: I totally understand you Shinta, but there are no supervisor that we can escalate this chat to. The phone support is a toll free number.
Shinta: without a supervisor then, are you authorized to fix this problem for me? this is playstation customer service. even while on hold on the toll free line, it has an automated message playing encouraging people to use this chat instead
Shinta: I've been transferred 8x
Shinta: everyone says it's not them
Shinta: I called the line you mentioned, and they said no, not them. call Sony Online Entertainment
Shinta: Sony Online Entertainment said they only handle the MMOs, which is true.
Customer Service.: What is the game Shinta that you were support to get as cross-platform?
Shinta: Dead Nation, I purchased it on PS3 on 09/25/11
Shinta: for $14.99
Shinta: it was released yesterday for Vita for $7.99
Shinta: it says in the actual description on PSN store for Dead Nation Vita that you get both versions with one purchase
Shinta: and here is a thread of people I asked about it, and they are replying and explaining that for them it showed up free
Shinta: one person even replied and said that he had the same issue, and the only thing they could do was give him
Shinta: $10 credit so he could get it. so read through this if you would like to.

Customer Service.: Shinta, when did you purchased the game for $14.99?
Shinta: 09/25/11
Shinta: some people even said they got the game from the PSN free games offered
Shinta: way back when Sony PSN was hacked
Shinta: and gave infamous, wipeout and dead nation free
Shinta: as a gift for the PSN outing
Shinta: and they still were able to get Dead Nation free yesterday
Customer Service.: I see, let me check some information for you.
Shinta: sure, take your time.
Customer Service.: Shinta, I was checking for Dead Nation and there is no official information about the game being cross-platform.
Shinta:
http://www.destructoid.com/one-more-time-dead-nation-hits-ps-vita-later-today-273255.phtml here is a story on destructoid as well, a major gaming website, reporting that it is retro-actively cross-buy
Shinta: and in the comments there too, you can see people saying they got it free
Shinta: something about the official information is not correct, clearly.
Shinta: this is why companies employ customer service so they can help iron out these issues. so I'm hoping we can get this fixed without me trying a 9th time.
Customer Service.: Dead Nation was actually for free for PS4 just for PS+ members.
Shinta: I know, that is Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition. And I actually already have that as well.
Shinta: it's listed as a separate game
Shinta: the PS3 version is just regular Dead Nation
Shinta: I have both the PS3 and the PS4 version, and I'm a PS+ member
Customer Service.: I'm still researching this for you Shinta.
Shinta: that's okay. take your time.
Customer Service.: I was checking this with your team and the game was release for all platforms but you need to purchase the game for the exact platform that you wish to play to.
Customer Service.: The only version that was for free has been the one for PS+ members.
Shinta: That is incorrect. And you don't have to take my word for it. That is why I linked to this. I don't mean any disrespect at all. Please show this to the team
Shinta:
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=108455175&posted=1#post108455175
Shinta: read it. it's not very long
Customer Service.: I'll check it for you.
Shinta: thank you
Customer Service.: Shinta, we were checking the link and this is not an official PlayStation statement or post, reason why we cannot validate it. I apologize for not being able to provide the desired resolution, but the game was not released to be cross-platform.
Shinta: have you checked what it says on the description of the game on the PSN store for the vita version? I can quote it for you if you haven't
Customer Service.: I was checking it for you.
Shinta: "For one price, get this content for your PS3 and Playstation Vita systems. Purchase it on one system and it will automatically appear for download on the other systems at no additional cost"
Shinta: I have like 4 sources saying it is cross-buy. I think something is wrong and they didn't give you all the proper information.
Shinta: so I'm not blaming you
Shinta: but you are the only one who can fix it
Customer Service.: In this case Shinta, you will need to purchase this version that cost $7.99 in order to be able to download it in your PS3 and PS Vita.
Shinta: even though I showed you comments from people who did not have to do that?
Shinta: on two websites?
Customer Service.: The release date for this version as 04.15.2014.
Shinta: I'm aware, and all the people commenting owned Dead Nation on PS3 before then
Shinta: Sony wants to give this version to people who previously bought it
Shinta: I'm not lying
Customer Service.: In this case Shinta, we would need to investigate those accounts in order to check this situation.
Shinta: I'll wait
Customer Service.: You can report them following the steps here:
http://us.playstation.com/support/answer/index.htm?a_id=218
Shinta: This is official customer support. Why are you unable to help with this issue?
Shinta: $7.99 credit on my account will fix it now
Shinta: I have provided documentation explaining what is happening
Shinta: the original purchase of Dead Nation is in my download history
Shinta: and I provided the date
Shinta: just credit the account and it is fixed. I have already paid for this game.
Customer Service.: You will need to pay for the new version in order to download for both consoles.
Customer Service.: Unfortunately, customer support doesn't have any tools in order to credit accounts.
Shinta: That is not true. I provided 3 sources saying that is not true
Shinta: 1) neogaf
Shinta: 2) destructoid
Shinta: 3) PSN Store
Customer Service.: You will need to contact us over the phone, request a higher level to see which options they can offer you for this Shinta.
Shinta: can you contact them instead? if you can't fix this, why is that on me?
Shinta: I have started over 8 tims
Shinta: times*
Customer Service.: We don't have access for outgoing calls, you will need to contact us over the phone and request a higher level to see if they can offer you any other option for this.
Shinta: can you make a case number for this and detail what has happened?
Customer Service: Yes, you can refer them to this chat session: *****************.
Customer Service: And I'm creating a new case number separately so you can provide it to them.
Customer Service: Allow me a just 1 or 2 more minutes, I need to provide you with the case number.
Customer Service: Thanks for waiting.
Customer Service: Here is the case number: ********* for future references.
Customer Service.: Do you have any other concern I can assist you with?
Shinta: thank you
Shinta: wish me luck on attempt number 9. attempt number 10 I guess I'll try tweeting to Adam Boyes.
Customer Service: You're welcome, and once again I'm sorry for not giving you the resolution you desired.
Customer Service: have a good night, and once again I'm sorry for not giving you the resolution you desired.
Shinta: have a good night, thanks.
Customer Service: Have a good night Shinta!
