Notification gives a PS4 notification sound effect, too bad the notification itself isn't very detailed

Sending friend requests with this app is great, but it still boggles my mind that you can't find PSN friends via your list of Facebook friends.

Sorry for a little unrelated question but have they previously made an iPad version of this app? When I last used it it looked horrible on my iPad Air so I just uninstalled it. I don't like running phone apps on a tablet.

I think avatars set via the app are only displayed to others for people who accepted real name requests. Which makes sense

All I saw was the mention of iPad 2 and iPad Mini. Those aren't exactly modern iPads so I was hoping there was a retina iPad app released previously.

I've just updated on ipad 3. Icons are not as sharp as they could be, they need to do another update for retina support.

EDIT: Feels much better to use on the ipad now. :)

This app needs a complete redesign and the PSN store needs to be completely incorporated into the app (not kick you to the browser).

This app feels like something out of 2008 when the AppStore first launched, modern apps are a million times better. Sony needs better software engineers for mobile apps and system OS software.

Some nice little tweaks too, like showing on the main page the number of online friends, and there's a dedicated button to add friends.

I've got the Android version and I'm a bit disappointed that it sends me directly to browser (Dolphin, yo) to browse the online store. I was hoping to browse the store in-app. But other than that, its not bad.

Yeah, it's not showing up as an iPad app when you search for it via the app store, but I just downloaded the iPhone version and it looks fine on my iPad Air.

It's probably because the update just came out. It's a universal app now, so it should hit the iPad App Store in search soon

It's been like that from the start. It needs sorting. Solid update though.

Glad I'm not the only one thinking this. The app feels like a first gen iPhone app. Not a 2014 iphone app. It's functional. It gets the job done, but that's all it does.

I can't stand the lack of rubberbanding when scrolling the friends list. It's also annoying waiting for friends to load as you scroll. They support the lower resolution iPads? Okaaay. Is it really that tough to up the resolution for the newer ones?

Yes, redirect to the store is a bad look.

It's a shame, both MS and Sony could do better on their respective apps when it comes to integration. I still can't access the Xbox Games Store from the Smartglass app either.

Baby steps I suppose.

Yes, but I and other people are hoping that it will eventually be integrated right into the app rather than just kicking people unto your phone's browser.
I think there are some issue with Apple doing that... you will need to use Apple Account to buy PSN things that will make games way more expensive.

I thought someone said it's that way so that when you buy something Apple/Google does not get a cut. Builtin store means it has to go through itunes/playstore.

Here's the page from Apple, the first line says that Apple gets a 30% cut for all IAP. Makes sense for Sony to NOT do it through the app then.

Damn, that sucks. :/

Don't worry, I just DL'ed it onto my iPad mini Retina and it looks fine.
I'm very happy that it's finally a native iPad app, but damn they really put zero effort into the iPad version! It looks like early tablet apps that just stretch everything bigger. So much empty space.

This is a great update, but Sony has a lot more work to do.

Was the Link PS App with Services under Settings always there? If not...what does it do...looks like your typical (give this app access to your contacts)

Noticed a "From Playstation" category when toggling on/off push notifications. Hope they don't send you ads :P
