New Watch Dogs PS4 Gameplay/Previews

Not much traffic on the roads. Doesn't look too bad otherwise I suppose. My Amazon order shipped yesterday, so I'm in either way at this point.

Doesn't look that bad, but I'm not purchasing any sub native games for my PS4. ACIV looks gorgeous after it's 1080p patch; do the same and you have my money again Ubi.

I stopped watching after the car wheels didn't turn as the car turned. It actually looks like the car is ice skating without any momentum. Lots of object pop in and the game looks disappointing visually. The shooting looks off as well. I haven't played the game so i can't speak to the gameplay aspect of it but i am sure that this will be the worst looking open world game released on xbox one and ps4.

I hope at E3 we start to see more games taking advantage of the extra memory over previous gen like Killzone & Ryse as visually that looks disappointing, I wasn't expecting amazing stuff considering it's cross gen but come on, we could at least expect a little better than this surely ?

Like clockwork.

I'm going to miss your shitposting in every Watchdog thread.

Those Youtube videos really don't do the visuals any favours, though I guess they cant be blamed for the awful clipping ( the cars wheel disappears into the road ) or the pop-in.

The shooting looks awful.

Why did I pre-order this...

It's not too late to cancel. Not sure why anyone preorders games nowadays unless it's a proven IP that you absolutely know its quality going in (like Borderlands 2 for me was a preorder, but Aliens? Nope). It's not like it's going to be hard to find on day 1 if the reviews are amazing.

Do you even know what shit posting is? Everything i said is true and i only made sure i specified that i was talking about the visual side of things. Show me one piece of evidence that proves my statement invalid and i will retract the statement. The fact that i'm not the only one who complained about it's visuals should show that you're in the minority.

Edit:

Never mind, you're avatar gives it away.

Not much traffic on the roads.

I never really understood this complaint. On one hand, yeah, more cars on the road would be realistic. On the other, it would make it very hard to drive fast, maneuver through things, etc.

Looks like there's more cars on the road here than most open world games, which is nice.

They're not outrightly bad but Ubisoft open world games do feature lots of jank and bloat most of the time. Some people have less tolerance to these things than others.

Yep. I loved their games in the Beyond Good and Evil, Prince of Persia, etc. era, but Assassin's Creed is really a step down from the past glory. Some of their studios still produce stellar games however (ZombiU, Rayman Legends, Ghost Recon Shadow Wars...).

Watch Dogs look like a less ambitious GTA with Assassin's Creed-quality writing, so I think I'll pass.

Cool, I didn't know they were making a Xbox 1 version. Controls may be off with the duke controller.

Don't kill me. Looks okay. Youtube compression though.... yuck.

Looks great, can't wait to cause virtual mayhem all over my city next week!

The utterly absurd amount of negativity surrounding this game here is hilarious.

The city looks good. The driving seems quite bad. The interiors are horrible. The shooting seems somehow off (the Gamespot guy is lousy at it but still went into a shooting spree and killed everyone in the third try). The tower unlock in AC style? I'm not sure about that. And doesn't seems to be too much useful hacking besides the towers and listening to the people. Let's see some more.

They should change the name to Ugly Dogs.

What happened to this game since the 2012 Reveal...hell even the 2013 E3 Gameplay montage?

It looks like it went through the garbage disposal.

Looks good graphically. At times great, at times ok. Overall though, good enough.

The police chase video is great, looks like tons of opportunity for insane chase scenarios

It's a hell of a lot better looking than the last-gen versions. I saw a few streams last night of the 360 version and it looked like a PS2 game.

It's just one thing that can really make a virtual city that much more unconvincing. Plus, with the tools Aiden has for traffic control, such as traffic lights, roadblocks, etc, I think this game could allow for a bit more.

Who knows man, you're probably right. The main issue, though, is that when I watched that clip I saw a fun-looking police chase in a nice-looking open world. It seems pretty clear you watched the video just to pick out negative aspects about it.

It seems like it would get exhausting to be so negative all the time.

And you have a Killzone avatar which is pretty telling

I can't judge the graphical quality based on this, the compression is so dire.

When it's running on my PS4 and I'm seeing it on my TV, then I'll judge it.

Sorry to say it, but I'm dissappointed in graphical visual for a PS4 version, but also as term of gameplay. The camera view to be set that high, makes the car to look small and tiny-arcade way compare to the street and other objects which somehow are larger and bigger. Feels very old fashion arcade, but in a bad way, and somehow has lost his reaslism from back in the day at E3 2012. At least if it had similarities to GTA IV car-camera view or Driver SF that would have been something else.
