Fable Legends mulitplayer beta begins October 16.

Just got this email...

Greetings Adventurer!

The Fable Legends Multiplayer Beta starts on October 16th.

Get ready for selection, complete your registration HERE.

Hero or Villain? Soon the choice will be yours!

If you need help with the registration process just head over to our forums.

The first test group will be selected on Oct 13th. If fortune favours you, you'll receive an email then. Future waves of invites will go out regularly following that, all the way into 2015.

We hope you enjoy an epic new journey through Albion with us!

The Lionhead Studios Team

Personally, I'm curious. Not sure how well it'll actually play, but I love the 4 heroes vs. one villain concept, so I'm willing to give it a shot.

Turn me into a Kinect game if old.

Got the email and signed up a few hours ago. I'm kinda interested to see what this game is because it didn't seem all that great during E3

I got it also. I had to complete my registration for the game.

Thanks for completing your registration for the Fable Legends Beta!

We will email you when you are selected to begin your adventure, or you can check back here any time for updates.

This is not actually your beta status confirmation email though.

But this is reminder of Fable legend beta. :)

I hope I choosen as first test group.

Got the email, hopefully I will get in the beta. I don't like what I've seen, would rather have a big adventure, but I'm open enough to letting it change my mind.

Don't feel bad if you don't get it the first cohort selected tomorrow. The odds aren't on your side.

The beta is beginning small, but will add thousands more this year, and next.

I've mentioned before, but I'll say again - the Legends beta isn't a demo or marketing event as many betas are today. So we're not just two months out from release, and just testing our servers. Well, we will be doing that too, but the point is to get feedback on a game that is very much still in production. Testers will be seeing unfinished content (often without final assets, art, or animation) so that they can feedback that actually can change the game in development.

I still don't understand what this game is supposed to be. Is it some versus battlemode type game or something?

Why didn't they just make Fable 4. I don't get it.

What makes it a fable game exactly? Is it just using the name for marketing sake?

Setting and tone, I suppose. Consider it a spinoff.

It's... sorta a versus battlemode type thing. 4 heroes vs. 1 villain, all player controlled (though the various roles can be taken over by AI if you want to play on your own). There will be a story, apparently, though Lionshead has been kinda cagey about that.

As for the second question, maybe they wanted to try something a little different?

I'd be lying if I said that I didn't have any fun with it at E3, but it just felt so basic and kind of uninspired. I'd much rather play another traditional Fable game, not this.

I don't think it'll fare too well.

Awesome! I love that it's a real beta, I hope I get a key!

I'm so interested to see this game, can't wait to get back into Albion. I like the premise of the multiplayer but I hope the campaign magic is still there...

That's why I'm glad this is a real, honest-to-god beta, rather than a stress test. Plenty of time to fix the issues :)

Signed up for the beta a couple of days ago. I love the art style of the game.

There does seem to be a lot of strategy involved. For example if there's a really good villain I think it'll be fun finding out good strategys to defeat him and vice versa.

I would also prefer A fully fledged fable game, but I think this will be fun and the start of an upcoming trend this gen of team vs boss games.

Trying this out would help me with how to feel about the game. Currently only interested since it has the fable name. Even if its a radical departure.

I second email went out to those people who signed up directing to another beta signup.

my email traffic shows the reply for signing up in june and one confirming my signup a few weeks ago-

no codes-nothing directing me to sign up again-

-eh whatever- good luck to those that get in!

Coral Griffon said the odds were against us for the initial wave, so I'm not holding my breath for an invite this week.

I hope I get in within the next month or so. Love that this is a real beta where the feedback can help shape the end product.
