I like many were dismayed at this seemingly new concept of charging the same for PC prices as the current gen, and having none of it!!

so I am sharing the love :)

Dead easy to buy from Origin India and no risk at all to your account

1. Make sure a debit/credit card is saved to your origin account. This makes payment easier.
2. Install the Hola plugin for your browser and set it to India. Details can be found on the Hola site.
3. Go to the origin store and you'll know whether Hola has worked or not because all prices will be in Rupees.
4. Add AC Unity or Far Cry 4 to your cart and click through to checkout.
5. Disable Hola now and make sure you're back on your country ip. This will allow you to process your card. Proceed with the payment.

Will the game patch through Origin? I want it to patch through Origin, uplay patching is stupid as hell and won't buy.

Does this still work for Dragon Age?
Dragon Age is 40$ on the Mexican Origin store (45$ for the Digital Deluxe).

Does this have Dual DRM (Origin + uPlay)?
You get a key and can activate it on uplay and download/play it there without Origin (but you can download it on Origins as well, if you prefer that). At least that was the case with Watchdogs and I doubt it will be any different for ACU/FC4.

Wasn't the downside of this method that they lock you out of purchasing from Origin? Unless of course you make a dummy account for this method.

think read that had happened to some people, but I have ordered from Mexico and India and the UK and all been fine....

as always with these things you get the odd person get a problem but generally it seems to be fine

I never experienced that, I've tried it few times in the past with Indian store and I live in UK. If something ever comes up I will just tell them I am currently in India and there is nothing else they can do about it.
I am Indian nationality wise anyway so I can show them my Indian ID if they want that too.

Ok, my bad. Just read some reddit threads which had users who were unable to purchase from Origin after this trick.

I don't see how it does.
Shitty maybe. Port, not necessarily.

Well, it has some nice Nvidia features but other than that, it will be a unoptimized PC port. Just think about it, the minimum requirements are much more powerful than a PS4/Xbox, I know consoles will be better optimized but this just reeks bad optimized PC port :/ Ubisoft is like "well, every PC user out there has a high end gaming pc, they have enough raw power to run it at PS4 levels. So dont waste money on optimizations."

I would go into the impressions thread for that, best to keep OT, this thread is about sharing the love on excellent prices...

I appreciate you refusing to buy it because of your concerns though, perhaps wait to see how it runs

Well the game is developed by Ubisoft Montreal while Ubisoft Kiev is incharge of PC version, which pretty much means they are incharge of porting it to PC. If Montreal were developing PC version simultaneously with console version or were leading on PC, it wouldn't be called a port but as it stands it fits the definition of a port.

you are right and it was all around BF4 launch, I believe the consensus generally was though they stopped you buying from your own country...

and with the prices in your own country being so sky high was not really a punishment :)

I'm sure it's a silly question, but can I add the .exe to steam (as a non-steam game) and launch it that way, so that it will just launch uplay? Or will it launch Origin, then uplay after that...?

You can add Shortcut to Steam and play game with Steam Overlay.

No mate I'm not talking about whether it'll be shit in terms of hardware utilisation, I was questioning the PC port. I wasn't sure why people were saying it's a port on PC.
I'm sure it will be a pile of crap in terms of performance.

That's what I wanted to know.

Cheers, might bite but I actually want it on Steam... mrgrgr :(

Can't wait for ubi to increase Indian games priceess here due to such things.

They already have done this once

I might be completely wrong but it seem India Origin doesn't support Paypal, only CC. While Mexico Origin support both. But someone please confirm.

Do I disable Hola at the very last page where it says to process payment? Cuz I tried 3 times yesterday but i never accepted my CC.
Although it did charge me USD 1 3 times as a way to see if it can go through to my bank.

Yeah, I was checking out the Mexican store for Dragon Age and Paypal is there. Meh. Oh well, just gonna buy Unity on the Mexican store. Its still fairly cheap lol

FC4 Gold is also apparently USD 60 in Mexico...I mean I WANT my Elephant stomper simulator but then there's the Yetis...

They only block your account from purchasing stuff if the security flags something is wrong. This can happen for a number of reasons, your bank declining the charge, your ip address being from a different location than the address you've entered etc.

Permitting you turn off Hola just before you log in on the checkout page, and you use your real address and a normal card you shouldn't have an issue. I haven't in the past.

No buy, cause the system requirements of Unity are ridiculous which means it will be a shitty PC port. Just as always with Ubicrap.

it will be as good as console code...just standard on pc is 1080p+ with stable framerate so hardware needed is in consequence.

This unfortunately did not work for me with Watch_Dogs last time around. They guaranteed there was nothing wrong on my end and then after two months of occasional nagging customer service they finally cancelled my order.

It isn't working for me. I get all the way up until the point where I make the payment, turn off Hola, agree to the ToS, and hit pay now and I get an error every time

I'm getting a sad face in the checkout box with a "too many redirects" message. And if I turn off hola while still in the cart, it emptys it. Darn

Had to unblock 3rd party cookies in chrome haha, duh. Worked great, thank you OP
