I hope it will be as good, if not better than the Nintendo Direct I got from Nintendo. Roughly the same amount of content to look forward to so that's a good sign... I hope! =)

I have owned the system since November 15th yet I'm getting pretty excited for this launch. I guess I'm looking forward to Japanese streams.

You never know. I'm honestly not sure what to expect really... on one hand, it's Square Enix and on the other... it's the PS4 launch. Which... is a pretty important thing for Sony in Japan. Hard to say what we'll expect to see.

And Square Enix as well, since the majority of their sales in the region for the new FF and KH etc. will be on PS4.

Dont think they will do bad at all. Alot of launch games and MGS coming in March will help them. Only issue is supply.

You're right. The positive reception from the West as well from Sony as well helps too.

You are forgetting an important thing though... a BIG one. For Japanese gamers, the mobile gaming market is huge. We'll have to see how big of an impact that market has had on the next-gen console market, if any.

Will Sakaguchi ever return to Sony?

I really want a new Sakaguchi JRPG epic on a Playstation platform.

So 10:30pm on the 21st is when FFXIV Beta will unlock too? Lol.

I'm hyped for the Japan launch too. I REALLY hope it sells a ton and opens the eyes of all the Japanese developers that there is a market to be taken advantage of with the console worldwide. A world of opportunity opens up with a highly successful Japan launch - post launch sales

Is the system launching with ANY Japanese games? It's nice all these folks show up for the big launch but other than Nagoshi, all they bring is a bunch of empty promises and no real goods. Hopefully the launch goes well and these publishers get on board and start bringing some games, but it's kind of frustrating to see most of them just sitting on the fence.

Considering how well it has sold in the west with "no games..."

Makes no sense at all since the PS4 has many of the current blockbuster IPs in the west. For Japan it has only Yakuza and that is even just a "spin-off". Since japan doesn't care about technically more advanced versions of games like the west, the PS3-version will also take a good chunk of the interest.

I don't think it's launching with Joysound... The page still doesn't have a release date :(
