Great shots and I agree, the game is gorgeous. You guys are in for a treat next Friday.

I wish you could turn the HUD off (or at least very transparent) the way you could in previous games though. If you can in this game, I haven't figured it out yet.
Post some impressions please. :)

I've never been there in real life, but the setting in media is very appealing to me. It really captures my imagination. It's one of the many appealing aspects of this game to me.

Like you're actually able to explore the city-like environment in Killzone: Shadow Fall.

Superb job, best looking game out there.
 
Well shit. I kinda like the first Infamous, but this one looks a lot better. Above all, the art direction is miles ahead what SP did with the first game.

More developers don't mean better graphics. In fact, it's quite often the opposite.

Phil Fish redeemed! The one man who put Crytek to shame.

VERY FEW are prerendered cutscenes. Everything is live and in the engine real time in MOST of the cutscenes you'll see.
Lens flares are tricky! Its easy to put in, and its even easier to do TOO much lens flare. We've done more of a lens effect on the screen rather than huge lens flares from the sun.
Our FX engine allows for randomization of light brightness...it will look a bit different every time
How many particles are rendered during the orbital drop? Cause it looks like a lot.
The rain alone was 25,000! I'm not sure exactly but its a LOT for that particular power!
Sucker Punch has created their own proprietary engine. We've used it for all our games including this one. Although we've done a major upgrade to the visuals to take advantage of PS4.
We have our own expression based particles engine that our VFX team created and used.
Rain is a huge part of Seattle, so it will be most prominently featured. Light rain and a heavier rain. There will also be a lot of post-rain sunsets as well.

Infamous looks really good, but people need to lay off watch dogs. It's on a bunch of platforms and the "downgrade" isn't as much as people make it to be.

What AA method is used, I don't see any jaggies.

There are some in some of the shots. The image quality definitely isn't pristine, but nobody should expect that out of a console. I can't even eliminate ALL aliasing in everything without sacrificing framerate on my PC and I have a 670.

I only ask as someone with 2 GTX 690s in quad SLI, and I can't for the most part eliminate 99% of jaggies. Guess it's game dependant though.

This constant comparison between the two is not fair at all IMO. From what I've seen, there's a lot going on in WD than Infamous SS. A much, much denser city, dynamic day/night/weather system, more indoor areas, driveable vehicles that move faster than Delsin so streaming is more demanding, plus crashing/damage ragdolls and collision etc.

Not to mention that Infamous: SS is developed for a single current gen system while WD is being developed for 5 last and current gen consoles. And we haven't even seen how WD final form looks.

This is one of the finest looking open world games. I hope the gameplay can finally connect with me though, i was still relatively cold on past inFamous games, particularly the downgraded unique platforming structures from the first into the second game
 
That looks really impressive, it has way better graphics than you'd expect from an open world game

Does it actually have a dynamic day and night cycle or just several fixed times that change after a loading screen between missions? (as in, can you stand around and the game goes through a 24 hour cycle in realtime like gta/project cars etc)
Because if has a realtime day and night cycle with that quality of lighting (and assets and textures) , in an open world game then it's not just impressive but pretty mind blowing

also@ OP, ps4 has a big boy gpu now (1080p graphics), it's time to stop posting heavily compressed or tiny screenshots , the full size uncompressed ones will look way better :p

I wish I could, these are screenshots taken using the stupid ass share button. Automatically compresses the shit out of everything.

I'm sure we will get direct capture feed shots soon enough...
