Titanfall 360 version delayed to April 8th (US), 11 (EU)

Horrible and still no videos/screens? It must really suck if they are keeping it so under wraps. Maybe they should just admit that its gonna suck and maybe they can get 2 or 3 more Xbones sold for people who want to play the better version.

If the Xbone version dips down to 20-30 FPS at some spots I can only imagine what the 360 version will do.

I doubt they will be getting much done in that extra week or two, this seems more like trying to distance the game a bit more from the Xbox one version.

That was my first thought too. It's all the more suspicious given how secretive EA have been about it, with no screens or footage for the 360 version available at all.

If EA want to establish the Titanfall 'brand' as the next CoD, they are really going the wrong way about it.

Yep; it's Respawn I feel sorry for. I'm sure the game will still do very good numbers for them, but the opportunity to reach its full potential on the first instalment has been truly squandered by EA.

I thought this was due out in 2 weeks? the disks would have been pressed 2 weeks ago if that were the case no?

Not necessarily, plus they may just need to polish up the day one patch. It probably just failed the certification process.

you can't do anything significant in 2 weeks
heck the game might already be gold by now

The game has to have already gone gold... How can you delay a game this close to the release date?

I think it was due for release in the UK on 28th March, so I presume it was releasing in North America on the 25th before the delay? It's the 19th today, so the game must have gone gold and been printed by now, unless this further delay was already known about weeks ago. To my knowledge retailers typically receive a game at least a few days before official release, so it would need to be with shops in NA by this Saturday, if not before.

Haha, yeah guys, they're just going to double the framerate in two weeks.

Yeah, that's a ridiculous suggestion.

The real question to ask is why no screenshots of the 360 version?

If it's not on par with the Xbone version then they've nothing to fear, but the fact their yet to show any media for the 360 version does indeed make me wonder it looks as near as damn as good as the Xbone version, and are worried their sales will be cannibalised because of it....

Most 360 owners are expecting a visual downgrade after all, so why not just show them something, to dispel the rumours....

Why doesn't Activision show the Wii versions of their CoD games until launch day? Because you don't muddy the pr waters with blurry last gen media. The 360 is now last gen. No one in their right mind is going to going to lead a cross gen advertising campaign with 360 footage in 2014. Especially if the 360 version is outsourced. Were there any pre-release 360 trailers for Thief?

And you have to realize, as bad as people complained about the framerates and textures in the Alpha build, the 360 version likely looks and runs worse than that. There is no advantage to showing it early, especially if they are still tweaking it for playability.

Because they want TitanFall to be a huge franchise. It's not just performance of the 360 version of TitanFall 1 that they have to worry about, but the effect that it has on future sales of TitanFall 2/3/4. People who have a bad experience due to shitty performance on the first game will be less inclined to buy the sequels.

I'm not talking about people saying they is delaying because the 360 version might not be up to par.

I'm talking about people who claim the delay is so that there will be more One sales. And that EA wants this somehow. Unless EA directly profits more, or unless someone is on the verge of being fired due to the exclusivity agreement, I can't see why EA would agree to delaying the game just to boost One sales.

I don't own an xbox 360/one, but I would be ok with this if I were. Maybe some issues were discovered in the xbone version that are fixable if given a few weeks without having to add a day 1 patch. Doesn't have to be a major bug, could just be a few small things that could make things easier going forward and at launch.

I believe the initial delay was for the xbone version to shine but I don't think so about this delay. Maybe as a ps3 gamer I learned to wait, but isn't it better to allow a dev to do their job.

I don't find it strange that any game gets a delay, but I do find it strange that in this case, both have been minor incremental delays, that seemingly allow little to be actually done with the time they give themselves. If the first which was a smaller delay was just for polish, that would not be unusual, but twice? for small periods?

Seems odd. Not in a "hurp they delayed it for Xbone sales" way, but an unusual way all the same.

Sales for the Xbone version must really be disappointing. I've never seen a game of chicken with release dates like this.

And at the very least they could've shown a video along with the delay to prove the game actually exists. Guess the 360 game really does run like garbage.

In the age of shipping it broken and patching it after. A two week delay is bs, you cant make any significant changes in that time.

How does one fit 46GB into a DVD format? Unless the uncompressed audio was for that one situation
Why would it be 46 gigs? You take out unneeded language files, you compress the audio, you compress the textures, you reduce the quality of the videos on the disc, you make a huge mandatory patch since the game is online only anyway. Game shouldn't be bigger than 15 gigs on the 360 all things considered.

It's one disc with an additional 1gb requirement if the box art posted a week or so ago was accurate.

MS really hasn't changed, they'll stop at nothing to fuck their userbase.

Its not the graphics its the amount of action going on in the background and the speed at which you move. A lot of processing power is needed. If you actually play the game you will see it. Check out the threads on here describing people's PC setups and any tearing issues the game has on the XBO. If you really think the 360 can handle that you are just delusional.

Its really not that hard to understand. Mort heard sub 30fps and sub 720p.

I see. Thanks for the heads up.

Makes sense. There are no details about this game. Framerate, resolution (Im pretty sure these are still a mystery right other than Famous' inside info?). We haven't seen a video, we haven't seen a screenshot, we haven't heard anything from Bluepoint.

It would be really easy to believe this game doesn't even exist. The only reason we know it does is because Microsoft told us it did, then they announced it was delayed which reiterated it was in development, then they told us it was delayed, which further reiterated it was in development. In all seriousness, it's hard to figure out what is going on with this game. Does it need more time in the oven, or are they trying to force people to upgrade?

I'm confused by this response to the 'Microsoft fucks its userbase' comment. Did she get fucked also?
Saying that MS will "stop at nothing" to fuck their userbase is utter hyperbole. The fact that the guy saying this has a PlayStation/Sony character as his avatar says a lot about him.

Hmm, I look at it the other way. Titanfall is probably selling Xbones really well so they want to continue with that. As soon as they add the 360 version people have less reason to upgrade.

Looks to me Titanfall is working as a system seller for Xbone. If the conspiracy theory is true...

Definitely so they can sell a few more Xbones. It's not like the game is in danger of releasing on other consoles first, so it hurts EA exactly none to delay it. Whoever will buy it on 360 will buy it when it releases.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say reviewers don't get advance copies of this.

Nope, it will more than likely just put the game out of non-xbox one owners minds as the hype from the one version dies down.

it's too bad this game didn't hit all three at once. i think a universal delay would have been for the best. the 360 version gets to launch on time and in-turn gives Respawn more time to polish the xb1 version

They could make use of those two weeks to set up servers for South Europe. I'm sure they will after all the answers they've given the Spanish and Portuguese community through twitter and their forums (none at all).

That's not you "hearing about it".
Seriously though-- If you're going to make any claims of any sort about anything here, give the source immediately or risk being banned. Also NeoGAF being a "source" isn't actually a source. Just give the link to the post or you're asking for trouble. At least say you remember it from am different thread.

Two most basic rules as a fellow Junior as I understand them:
--Don't be a jerk.
--Don't say you know stuff you don't actually know or are just quoting other stuff on the site.

Lol, Pete Dodd is a certified NeoGaf insider. He has Bish's approval. He is connected and has good information. So that is as good of information as anything else we have at this point since Microsoft doesn't want to share anything about this game. And if you do post stuff on NeoGaf, like "I heard" or "people are saying" the mods will normally smoke you out and let you give a chance to tell where you heard it, and if it was at the bus stop, then you will get banned.

I really don't think that's what's happening. I think MS would be bragging about it by now. Instead we get a delay of the 360 version with no update to how well the xbone version is doing
