Yeah, pretty much. AFAIK the people who use capture cards with the PS4 now have to use another splitter to get rid of HDCP.

Some people don't like having to use/buy a HDCP stripper when recording from their console.

All I need is my mp3 playback/custom background and I'm good.

Yes. You could already use them, but you would need an hdcp stripper. After this update the ps4 will officially support capture cards.

960x540 actually. And the editor will probably be Sony Vegas (extra?) lite or something. I wouldn't expect too much.

They need to fix their non-exsistant download management, this is easily their most glaring issue, fuck a pause would be a start. Also, give us patch priority game by game and disable options too. I really like aspects of the sleep mode, but don't need another 6GB Blacklight patch on my capped plan, if and when I wanna bring that game up to date should be my choice, I'd rather not have to delete it wholesale.

Hm, well MP3 support seems to be an easy thing to patch in seeing you can already listen to ANY music from their subscription service while playing a game.

And it really is one of my most wanted features. I was pretty pissed off when they revealed that there wasn't going to be MP3 support on my 400 euro next gen console.

Nah, I bought a gaming machine that is able to playback music in the background but Sony wants me to subscribe to their horrible Music Unlimited service while I have a perfectly great collection of music of my own. My most used function on the Xbox 360 was playing my own music in the background.

And forgive me for thinking that a 400 euro machine could have the same media capabilities as my old PS3 did. I'm not saying copy the code, but it's probably easy as hell to add MP3 playback.
