Titanfall 360 version delayed to April 8th (US), 11 (EU)

Why wasn't the Xbone version delayed as well to "make it better"? There are framerate issues and the devs are already talking about bumping the res. You'd have a stronger case if the Xbone version did not ship on time and with issues.

Lol.. could you imagine the backlash by the people buying that version.. and then the people who weren't even buying it to begin with?!?! Ya.. .that's what they're going to do. Delay it a second time. (wasn't it pushed back to March?) Because that's what Xbox One news needs to be going around. MS delayed the biggest game they have of the year (as known of now). Could you imagine some of you guys then? This 360 version being delayed would be nothing compared to that.

I've played the hell out of the alpha, beta and now the new game. And yes. It could of done with some delaying again. There are no lobby leaderboards. no friend leaderboards. no clan tags. Stuff like that is basic. It's easy to see it was rushed. But they delay this game on the X1 and the internet would of gone nuts.

People are forgetting EA is the one that decides when this is released They have nothing to gain from this and is MS was paying the delay would be longer than 2 weeks.

I've experienced barely any issues with the Xbox One version and you're telling me that the Xbox 360 version isn't more likely to have even more issues than the Xbox One version, perhaps even making the 360 version unplayable at times? If the Xbox One version is having any issues, imagine what issues the 360 version might have. Also, did the 360 version have a public beta? No. The Xbox One version did (and Respawn found at least 5 major issues with it and fixed them by the release).

STOP FUCKING DELAYING THE GAME DAMNIT!

I just want to play it :((((((((((

then buy an Xbox One...! that reaction is exactly what Microsoft wants ! people would have bhought it on xbox 360 ... if there is no 360 version some people might buy the xbox one !

The 360 is no doubt having issues running the game. And microsoft isn't the publisher, thry can't force EA to delay.
Microsoft paid them a nice amount...they can and it looks like they did!

I’ve been playing the game a lot, and it is fantastic. But we see a few things that can be made even better, so we’re giving Bluepoint a little more time to do just that and deliver an epic Titanfall experience for Xbox 360 players.

Maybe they should have done the same with the XB1 version with all it's screen tearing and FPS drops. I wonder if Microsoft is delivering truckloads of money for each delay. Wouldn't be surprised if the game never came out on the 360

Then why didn't they just delay it for a few months. Or just all at once?

So the two likely options are:

  1. Another delay to help the Xbox One
  2. or, the Xbox 360 version is so rough EA is willing to delay it for last minute cleanup.

I really dont think it's a stretch to think that when MS got the deal with EA, they managed to include a clause to delay the 360 version until the XO's version reaches 1 million copies sold, for instance.

NPD shows around 700 thousand copies sold (if I'm not mistaken), maybe another week is what MS needs to reach 1 million.

is it a fact they had to delay it because it`s somehow not done?...but no i don`t have a source... nobody here has any real source... or else there wouldn`t be this discussion!

Thanks for the response. I dont have a pc that can run the game so 360 is my only option. Right now this is starting to feel like the situation when you are walking towards a car and your friend drives away then stops, then you continue to walk towards the car and again the car drives away.

Not sure where you are getting the NPD figures from but the game has likely sold 1m. Saying that is a lot more realistic than the conspiracy stories flying about.

What can they fix in two weeks? Also since when did EA start caring about fine tuning a game. Look at battlefield on the ps4.

They obviously want people to grow impatient and buy the xbox one. The first of many delays. I am betting this game won't be out until June.

I'm pretty sure MS is the reason for the Xbox 360 version in the first place. I think FamousMortimer made the claim that MS requested it.

And how often does EA delay games for fine tuning? I am usually against the tin foil hat stuff, but this does seem awfully fishy.

Development on 360 isn't new like development is on the XBO. Companies have had years of experience squeezing every last drop of power out of the 360 at this point. They're also under no obligation to maintain a specific resolution like Respawn seems to have been mandated to not downgrade the resolution to 720p on the XBO version, resulting in worse framerates than there needed to be. Also, it seems that 30fps was the target for the 360 version and not 60fps, and it may be quite a bit more achievable. Respawn is a relatively new company and though they have talented people, so does Bluepoint. I'm sure Respawn was also helping them and they have VAST amounts of experience in developing games for the 360 to get good framerates, sacrificing resolution to get it as needed.

Having a 30fps target means that no matter what, the XBO version of the game will end up being superior, even though the XBO version doesn't approach 60fps much of the time, it almost always is above 30. But a solid 30fps experience on 360 could still be a very fun game and decently comparable if they're able to pull it off, though it will look much worse graphically for sure.

Well what's done is done. The game is delayed for whatever reasons, simple as that. The only parties that know the real reasons are EA and Blueprint.

The 360 is also a last gen system.

X1 version not sold enough yet?

First post nails it.

Boy, would I be mad if I had waited for this on 360.

Glad the game runs on my laptop. Even more glad Microsoft doesn't get a cut of my money.

This version is being sent (or not being sent) to die.

Are you saying that CoD resolution and CoD framerates on 360 are not achievable while also adding bots, mechs, and parkour because the 360 is a last gen system?

I would agree. That's why adding those elements makes the framerate target 30fps, which should be achievable.

I'm pretty sure MS is the reason for the Xbox 360 version in the first place. I think FamousMortimer made the claim that MS requested it.

The only reason Microsoft would have done that is to keep the cost of exclusivity down. EA would have wanted an even bigger truckload of money to keep Titanfall off every platform besides X1 and PC.

CoD has a shit ton less going on than titanfall. An absolute shit ton. In fact, comparing cod to titanfall is hilarious because it's such a bad comparison. Like really, pay attention to what is going on in titanfall and what the systen has to render. The amount of geometry in titanfall at any given time blows cod out of the water.

I wouldn't even be suprised if there is drops at 30fps. Which could easily explain the delay.

or 3, the most likely option, it failed certification, or Respawn felt it needed a few tweaks before release.

Pretty much this. It's amazing how many straws people are willing to try to grab in order to find an ulterior motive by Microsoft who isn't even publishing the game.

Business wise, this makes no sense for either company. EA wants game sales and couldn't care less about system sales while Microsoft would be much smarter in implementing a delay to drive up Xbox One sales than this.

Bruh I'm not buying a Xbox One for this. Already have a PS4 and don't have room in my center for another console. 360 ver. or no Titanfall for me.

Also lol @ people saying don't get the game if it's 30fps. From what seen the XB1 version floats around 40-50fps. Only would be a slight downgrade.

i agree. I wanted to rent titanfall to see how it is... but with all the delays its becoming a joke ...

same for me. Getting a ps4 on saturday. Still have my 360. So it wouldnt be a problem for me to just buy titanfall for this but EA and Microsoft have other plans it seems^^
