NPD Sales Results for March 2014 [Up4: FFX/X-2 HD]

PS4 led? Not surprised. I don't doubt that Titanfall sold systems, but I've long held the belief that games sell systems before, during, and after release, making the actual release date decidedly unimportant in the grand scheme of things, spike or not.

And inFamous is number 2 game of the month, I bet Sucker Punch is happy

Without any other foreseeable strategy at the scale of Titanfall on XBO's horizon, there is likely no chance now XBO will surpass PS4 in America without a complete change in strategy.

The price is the problem. I know the box has issues (hardware power etc) but I dont see that being anything compared to the price.

PS4 versions of multipats had bigger sales in almost all games (Not lego movie though), however Xbone software sales are bigger. So Titanfall must have sold fucking a lot.

Glad to see South Park doing so well, and also cool is The Lego Movie selling best on Wii U out of all the "next-gen" consoles.

As always tho, the highlight of these threads for me is the eventual appearance of creamsugar, dropping hints about how Wii U titles have sold up to date. DK actually held quite well on Amazon's Top 100 (rarely if ever dipping below the #60), and 3D World has yet to leave the Top 100 as well.

It seems as if I correctly predicted PS4> Xbox One. It seems that way. I guess I was right. Yep. I don't see a meltdown though.

Dang. Microsofts biggest market, their biggest exclusive thus far, great bundles, and yet PS4 still wins. I wonder if this means we'll see a Kinectless SKU soon.

#PS4Domination

I am pleasantly surprised at the sales result :D

It's over, period. Microsoft lost their last ace, and that's the end of their Xbox One hopes and dreams.

It's not hyperbole, it's not fanboy drivel. It is LITERALLY it for Xbox One. Microsoft has nothing left, nothing they can reveal tomorrow would fix the hole now created. There is no reason left for any one, hardcore or casual, to substantively invest in a Xbox One. Except if they want to play Titanfall. Which will also come to PS4 at some point.

Sony took the last reason away that anyone would NEED to own a Xbox One over a PS4 (except TV SPORTS KINECT LOL GAMING), and the cavalcade of tiny titles that will be nice but won't stir up any sales is not going to salvage the bloated, overdesigned behemoth that was Xbox One.

There may be some hardcore gamer's that stick around. Some did it for Gamecube. But the last bell tolled. Maybe next decade.

The age of Microsoft is done.

Settling in for a good 'un.

Can't believe PS4 still took the crown.
I think I'm blind. Isn't Titanfall #1 in sales here? Why is that bad for Microsoft? @_@

EDIT: These posts came before the hardware sales were posted.

TF sold to the base, but did not bring all that many new consumers to the console. Displaying lack of mainstream appeal

Perhaps a lesson to those of you who thought that you could force something into becoming the next Halo or CoD through brute force marketing: you cannot.

Ha how did I miss this. Nice job bro I didn't think anyone got it.

As soon as bish posted the bunk, I knew. PS4 won. But I still thought Xbox One was gonna pull it off, so ultimately decided to stick with my original prediction.

This is insane. With no comparable strategy to compete with Sony on the horizon, and Sony's big guns now all starting to come out, there is close to no conceivable way Microsoft can close the gap for almost the rest of the entire year. They'd have to get lucky and hope Quantum Break and Sunset Overdrive (as well as a price drop they better implement) can do it for them

to be immortalized in this glorious thread.

This is insane.

MS...what next? Permanent price drop to same/sub PS4 price? Free packins for the rest of the year?

Sabotage all production Facilities to slow Sony down.

I don't even know...

Tim Dog, please be Okay.

Arthur Gies, answer the phone, things will be somewhat alright.

Kevin Dent....Keep on denting.
