Mass Effect 4 'In The Middle' of Development

make it more like ME2, make player movements more fluid and less floaty like ME3, give me more funny renegade options/results, and make exploration more like ME1. There you go, ME4 gonna be the perfect game

ME2 > 1 > 3

I'm going to assume it won't be at E3. Won't be so disappointed then.

A reveal this year is pretty much 100% though. VGA reveal let's go.

At E3 Dragon Age 3 is going to show more than Mass Effect 4. ME4 might just be a teaser trailer while I bet DA3 will be demos.

I've been saying it for a while now: I will be absolutely shocked if we see any footage of ME (not) 4 at E3. They may talk about it, but they will show absolutely nothing until DA:I is out the door.

6. Sequel to the trilogy is likely.

I think its safe to assume if the game is indeed a sequel, it will take place around the time that Stargazer and the kid are talking about the legend of Shepard.

I don't believe that's a safe assumption in the least. I personally bet it'll take place within 200 years of the end of ME3.

I do want to clarify a bit on that: the implication I've been given that it's a sequel is not "oh maybe it's a sequel but I dunno *taps nose* *winks*" but instead comes from people who may not necessarily know themselves. I have no idea where in the timeline it is set. The people I've spoken to I'm pretty sure don't know for sure either. The grapevine just suggests that yes, it's a post-trilogy game. I don't really want to gamble on it though, because BioWare.

I don't think that they'll do that. If it's a sequel, it's going to be not too long after the events of ME3. Maybe 5-20 years later.

its to much to hope that this game takes place right at the end of 3, with the opening realization that Shepard was under Sovereigns mind control from the "portal rush" point forward, isn't it?

VGX 2014 will most probably have a teaser trailer for Mass Effect 4. Remember how it was for ME3? Teaser in December 2010, released March 2012.

Every time I see an ME4 thread I keep hoping there's a wealth of new information. Guess I shouldn't get my hopes up until E3 draws closer. That said this is something but not much to go on.

He said last year he expected it to be ready for reveal in 2014, but didn't want to guarantee it.

I think this year for certain. E3 though? Hmm...

I understand that Bioware want to focus on Dragon Age, but it wouldn't take too much away from it to have it officially announced with a couple of pieces of concept art and a steady stream of bits of information and then they can kick things into gear after Dragon Age is released. Come on, Bioware.

How dare you mock Biowares artistic integrity!

Takes place 100 years after the war with only the asari and krogan remembering the war and a vague exposition of the war and what happened with the assumption that destroyed was the canon ending.

Thats the best case scenario, spend 1 minute TOPS explaining what happens then just sweep that blight under the rug and hope everyone is on board with ignoring all of ME3.

wait a minute ... there is ME 4 ???
It will be the repairman simulation game to end all simulation games. Got to fix all those mass relays. Multiplayer will involve one person repairing and the other three fending off Batarian scavengers and their Volus overlords sporting full mech body armor that have enhanced biotic powers and witty one-liners.

I hope they go balls deep in the character creation for aliens for multiplayer. I'd love to be able to choose different krogan hump and crest sizes, armors and weapon mods. Also bring back chemical rounds.

And this is far fetched but it would be cool if we could play as the council species in the main story, human, asari, turian and salarian. Though that would require a tremendous amount of work and time involved.

I really should play Mass Effect 3 at some point. It's kind of lonely sitting there on my Origin account.

If VGX isn't on TV like it was this year (and it won't be), there's not a chance in hell it's getting the ME (not) 4 trailer. The only reason it got the high profile games was due to the fact it was reaching a "mainstream" audience.

This is officially the last Mass Effect 4 link/thread I click on. No trailers. No previews. No interviews. I am putting myself in Mass Effect 4 sequester. I want to be completely blind going into this one.

All I want is for them to make it Next-Gen and PC only. Go back to the roots of Mass Effect and make a truly massive game with planet hopping, Mako driving and all manner of awesome enemies.

If only I had the self control to do this. :(

It's good to want things.

Idk if I should be happy or if they are just milking the cow and another series goes down the drain.

Not so much "milking the cow" more like after having butchered the cow with a meat cleaver they are trying to see if they can get any more milk out of the festering, bloated rotten corpse.

At this point the only fascination I have for Mass Effect 4 is how they will pull off a sequel. I am curious to know if they are just going to completely ignore the ending of ME 3 or do something along the lines of what they did with Mass Effect 2's ending in ME 3.

My own personal interest with the Mass Effect universe was so I could hang out with Femshep and the crew. With those gone there isn't anything that compelling about the mass effect universe for me. But I am still curious as to how they will pull this off.

Reading some of the speculation from the Eurogamer article has got me more excited for ME4. I missed when the Mako was being hinted! That's awesome if they decide to go back to the exploration based roots that ME1 had. Now bring back the RPG complexity of ME1 and ME4 could be great!

Sounds good. I hope they revamp the ammo situation... I don't mind having to reload every now and then, but running out of ammo felt really silly.

I expect a very short teaser this E3 much like the one we got for Battlefront last year. Then we will hear almost nothing else about it until after DAI comes out, if not next year.
