For regular attendees, the tickets for the special event go on-sale on the 15th. Premier attendees have been able to buy as of today.
Basically, if you weren't going to AX prior to today, now would be a good time to get your attendee badge and buy the KLK event ticket on the 15th.
Yet since the character and animation director will be there, the title is actually correct. Granted, considering the staff of SPJA while coordinating with Sony and Aniplex, I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few more surprises really...

Okay, I'll get a badge on the 15th regardless. If I can't go, it's whatever. Hopefully some GAF folks will want to meet up. I really have the Anime community on here to thank for being so helpful and kind. I wouldn't be into Anime if it wasn't for them. And I've never been to this sort of thing. Probably going to be overwhelming. Then again, I've recently spent time in Japan and that can be overwhelming lol

Ah, that's cool you are in the press group. I guess the closer it gets to the event, I'll make some posts in the Anime thread, and see if anyone that is going is interested in meeting up. Couldn't hurt.

Anime Expo never sold out in the 11 years I attended the con.
Though with 61,500 unique attendees (from 2013, it may be more for 2014), it will be pretty packed.

Cool going as industry, to represent Pacific Media Expo and maybe Otakorp (Otakon and Otakon Vegas).

We considered going to Otakon Vegas this year but no one compelling made us change plans at the last minute...
Hopefully Otakon Vegas continues to improve as it's only that and SacAnime that are the big winter cons.

I work other conventions now, such as Pacific Media Expo and Otakon Vegas.
It was fuckin' bananas last year. I am bringing with enough money for 2015 Premier Fan badges.
The first time I went to AX I bought my pass during the convention. I haven't heard of normal attendee passes selling out, but I imagine special events like this KLK event would.
Yeah, I'll be attending AX this year, but I'm not too sure what days I'll go.

I'm not as anti-dub as a lot of people, but I really am wracking my brains imagining who the hell they could get to dub KLK without completely sucking the energy out of it.

Aniplex announced they had the home video release rights way back when it started streaming. They held onto their own goods.
I don't expect a lot out of a KLK dub, but I'm excited to hear it. And really, all I want is a Blu-Ray release at a reasonable price. However, given that it's Aniplex and how they're going balls out with this, it's almost guaranteed to be gouging time.

Yeah, I was used to the 40,000~ unique attendees that Anime Expo had from 2006-2012, so having Anime Expo be as big as it is now (as in 60k plus) was a shock. With KLK, the number will definitely be big again this year.
I don't expect a lot out of a KLK dub, but I'm excited to hear it. And really, all I want is a Blu-Ray release at a reasonable price. However, given that it's Aniplex and how they're going balls out with this, it's almost guaranteed to be gouging time.
A friend of mine is an Aniplex rep, I can ask him at con for that information.

Normally at a smaller con, I suggest doing the weekend duo (Saturday and Sunday), but once an event gets big enough, you get the full convention experience doing all the days. Especially a convention like Anime Expo that is THE cosplay convention, at least in the West Coast.

How does one get work representing Otakon Vegas? I used to have a press job a few years ago and I live in Vegas. I've seen the way Anime Vegas has been run recently and its presence is practically non-existent especially now that Otakon Vegas is the con to go to in town.

I'm attending. 3rd year in a row and I all ready have a room booked at the Westin Bonaventure. Hmmmm I'm not sure if I'll get tickets to this event honestly. Down for a meet up with Gaf though and if anyone needs a place to stay we can negotiate, if you don't mind sleeping on the floor in a room wit 4 other dudes

Anime Expo is a really great place for a NeoGAF meetup. I have become friends with many of you guys in real life thanks to AX

Ditto on this! I met Hcoregamer00 at AX in like....2011 I think it was? Pretty cool dude. I'd love to meet more GAFers down there, since I'm likely going by myself this year.
