Whatcha Been Playin': 1992 Ike Doges Edition

Another busy week leading up to E3! We had another SSB challenger revealed...a Hyrule Warriors blowout...Wolfenstein capturing the attention of good doges everywhere...and Watch_Dogs finally nearing release on everything 'cept the Wii U.

So, GAF, I turn the question to you--especially you, the poster reading this:

Whatcha been playin'?

my friend brought over a bunch of Cod.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops - We played some zombies, i was falling asleep while holding the controller.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops II - zombies.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Some Horde mode? I forget what that mode is called but it was boring.

Transistor - Gorgeous, enjoy the combat, but it sure is repetitive. Great music. Have no idea what's going on in the story.

Trials Fusion - I love Trials, and this is more Trials. Don't enjoy the new trick system.

Mario Golf: World Tour - Fantastic golf game. Thought I was going to breeze through it, but it has ended up being pretty challenging. Really wish the items had more stat variety.

Super Time Force - Nice side scrolling shooter/time puzzle combo. Little overwhelming at times, but still fun, and doesn't feel as out of control as I expected.

Overall, I'm having a good time with all these, but I still doubt I'll finish any of them.

DKC: Tropical Freeze
Wolfenstein TNO
Super Time Force
Mario Kart Wii
Phantasy Star Online 2
Persona 4 and P4 Arena

I'm all over the place. Gonna be even worse next week with Watch Dogs, Mario Kart 8 and the headstart for Wildstar.

Diablo III, mostly, with a dash of FFXIV and getting back into Prison Architect.

What's this Transistor? I feel like I've heard of it. PS4 game?

Bastion 2.

PC/PS4.

Picked up from where I left off back in March. Gym four and five done, and starting to form a final team plus extras to take me through the rest of the game! Only wish it was more challenging!

Just started this. Pretty intriguing so far, looking forward to getting lost in the game world!

you speak so well
Transistor - I like Bastion more so far but it's still a good time.
SMT: Nocturne - Probably 2/3 of the way through at this point, still excellent.

Actually have time to play video games! so I've been playing

System Shock 2
Civilization V with Expansions.

Been meaning to get back into Guild Wars 2, Nier and Pokemon X.

Az987

all good things
Wolfenstein The New Order

I was really enjoying it but then I started getting annoyed by not being able to find some hidden treasures and uber difficulty last night.

Transistor since its release, beat it yesterday so I now doing NG+. Also been playing some Muramasa which I downloaded through PS+.

Jak & Daxter HD - About 80% through. Haven't played it since the original PS2 release. Loving the level design and awesome platforming.

Halo 4 - Still playing multiplayer almost nightly with the wife. Mostly SWAT and Action Sack.

Thinking about starting Tales of Xillia...but kind of want to see how Watch Dogs turns out. Was so excited for that game last year.

Woofystein- Fun time so far. Dual wielding is a blast and there is some nice optional stealth. Story seems like it might be a winner too.

God I wish I could play this for the first time again.

PS4-Wolfenstein, Killzone: Shadowfall, BF4
Xbone-Ryse, Titanfall
PC-World of WarCraft
WiiU-Donky Kong Tropical Freeze
360-Lego Marvel, South Park Stick of Truth

My handhelds and phone/ipad have been given a breather lately.

I'm pretty happy with my mix of genres and systems right now. I play a bit of everything, all the time.

The Elder Scrolls: Arena (PC): My level 3 Altmer Knight with Plate Armor is already the bee's knees. On my way to Fang Lair after a few side quests.

Far Cry 3 (PC): Restarted several times, at one point I was even on the 2nd island. Recently eliminated all performance problems in regards to stuttering/micro-stuttering (key was to limit FPS to 59 even though I was averaging 80 during gameplay). So I felt starting over with smooth gameplay was better for my overall experience. Far Cry 3 Rebalanced with personal day/night cycle time tweak and Immersive Sounds installed. Slapped on some SweetFX as well.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC): Or at least attempting to. I have Things To Do In San Andreas and every time I spend an ample amount of time doing taxi missions it just randomly crashes, destroying any progress I made with passengers. Any help via PM would be appreciated.

I am fucking shocked at how good Killer is Dead on PC is so far. Like...its an actual action game (since it was Grasshopper I had very low expectations)

Only a couple hours in, but its got a silky smooth framerate at 60fps, no screen tearing, great visuals blah blah...what matters is it has above average combat. A very good dodge, stinger like dash attack with a cancel, both a just guard AND just dodge with different properties.

Really, really shocked right now, and this is only an hour or two in. Action games really open up once you have every ability and have replayed the game a couple times, this shit is too decent right now. Fucking Grasshopper learned how to make an action game.

EDIT: Yeah im gonna try my best to keep my mouth shit till I complete the game a couple times. But so far as you can see, im enjoying it. Hope the enemy design gets better later on.
Oh yeah also playing Drakengard 3.

-Kirby's Adventure (3D Classic, 3DS eShop) - Got this from Club Nintendo. Grabbed it to satiate my Kirby cravings, lest I spent $35 on Triple Deluxe. I think this is the 10th time I've played this game through. Levels vary wildly in quality, but I still love the boss fights. The art is still adorable, and the 3D effect is fun. I forgot that most of this game's difficulty comes from Kirby's lumbering and delayed responses to your input. It's especially jarring because most platformers nowadays subscribe to the Super Meat Boy school of instantaneous response. It's still cute and fun though.
-Street Fighter IV (PC) - Playing Ryu, Chun Li, Yang and Akuma primarily. Learning a little Dudley and Yun. I actually saw an Abel yesterday. It was like fighting a Unicorn; I didn't want to kill it, but I had to increase my PP at any cost. Honestly, I forgot Abel was on the roster; don't think I've played against one online in over a year. He makes DJ look like Ken, in terms of popularity. I used a few FADC combos successfully and on purpose. I made a concerted effort to play Ryu properly too (i.e. defensively, not as a rush down fool). Also, I randomly did 22/24 of Cammy's trials.
-Titanfall (PC) - I quite like the game. Enjoy myself almost every match. Nice to know I can still react at a decent speed even as an ancient 20-something. Last Titan Standing is really growing on me, along with Variety Pack. The casual mech combat is great fun. Been trying to use the knife plant stop thing while wall running more effectively. Got a few Gooser kills finally (but I'm still Gen 2). I have no coherent line of thought going here, so let's stop.

Peace and love, GAF.

Paper Mario 64 - I recently finished Chapter 4's Shy Guy Toy box area and got that new sidekick partner, Wattage. Man, getting the timing dodge to block some of the enemy attacks can be tricky! I think my stats are at 30 HP, 35 FP and 18 BP.

Just finished Resistance 3 and it's gotten me back into shooters since I enjoyed it so much. Just started the Darkness 2 and it's really solid so far. The setting/vibe of Resistance has also got me hankering for some Fallout so I might fire up New Vegas later on this evening since I haven't played it in ages.

My time was originally eaten up by Dark Souls 2 but finally finished that, great ending. Now onto Wolfenstein and Transistor before Watch Dogs. Loving Wolfenstein, looks gorgeous on PC and dual-wielding auto shotguns is just...amazing.

Keen to get some Watch Dogs online play, resembles Dark Souls which is the thing I'm most excited about. Transistor is fun, but only an hour into the game before I stopped, combat is a bit...strange. Not sure what is going on there.

I feel sorry for my PS4, haven't even touched it since inFamous :( Maybe I shouldn't have upgraded my PC...Actually that's a question I can ask here, should I sell my PS4 now, or wait until E3 to see what is announced and then sell it if nothing interesting for PS4 (that won't be better on PC) is coming out until September?

Transistor - About 2 hours in. Beautifully, gorgeous game from top to bottom.

Wolfenstein - Haven't started but will as soon as I get home from work.

MLB The Show 14 - Still plugging away RTTS mode. Made it to AAA and hitting .360ish on All Star I believe (using dynamic difficulty).

All PS4.

Well, E3 is so close now that you may as well wait until then to determine if your interested in any upcoming games, but you're probably right that most of the big game releases won't likely be coming out until around September.

Wolfenstein: The New Order on PC, and it really is an enjoyable ride. The feel of the gameplay is just... Perfect.

Diablo 3 - still dabbling with it for loots.

Mario Golf - surprisingly addictive game. Eating a ton of hours at the moment...

Can't wait for Mario Kart 8, though!

Finally got it in the Steam sale. Like many have said, the story is pretty interesting and a bit different than the norm, and was the driving force for me playing it. The gameplay is generic as hell. Graphics are quite nice. Worth the money I spent on it. Love the music too. Glad it was made :)

Factorio - brilliant strategy game with a far deeper layer than you initially think.. sinking lots of hours into it.

Crusader Kings II - This game is pretty much mastered by now.. there's no real challenge at all =(.

God of War 1 - For some reason I felt I needed to have played the great GoW series, recently got a PS2, so why not? Until now it has been pretty easy, although I play on hardmode.. I'm hoping it will get harder later

FFX - Yeah you know, never played any of the PS2 FF's.. why not start here. It starts really slow.. let's hope I'll enjoy it like every other FF I've played on NES / SNES / GBA / DS etc.

Hearthstone - Started it last week. Had a nice run, winning all my games from level 25 to 20. Was too nervous to play anymore as I didn't want to lose, but I worked up the courage and tried yesterday. Saw that one of the goals was to use a Rogue deck. Did that. Lost. Felt bad. Quit. Not sure when/if I'll ever go back.
Dark Souls 2 - Beat it Saturday night, went back to it last night to start some achievement cleaning. Still three bosses to beat, things to learn, various other things to do.

Other than those two, not sure. I went and started a list of games I want to play (before I die) and came up with a healthy list. However, I don't know where to start. I definitely own or can obtain all the games on the list, but just choosing a starting point is difficult. Do I want to play the shortest game? The oldest game? Newest game? How about one I started and stopped playing, should I go back to that first? Game on Steam? Game on console? Game on handheld? Too many decisions, so I'll probably just be staring at my computer doing nothing tonight.

Killzone Liberation (PSP via Vita BC) - Finished it. Wasn't really expecting the spike in difficulty in the later levels.

0xNWvWu.jpg

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (PSP via Vita BC) - A few hours into the story. Kinda wish the controls for the camera could be reworked, but I still find it to be enjoyable.

hENfd.jpg

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (PS3) - Multiplayer here and there. Still going for that level cap.

Just Beat

Killzone Shadow Fall - I thought it was OK but I don't play many FPS games. Looked nice.

Amazing Spider-man 2 - Pretty much the same as the first game. If you keep buying Spider-Man games you know what you're getting in to by now.

Just Started

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare - Really fun so far. I was a little worried when people kept calling it a free to play game that you pay for but the in game economy doesn't seem bad to the point of ever forcing you to pay money on in game items.

Wolfenstein - First game that really interested me since Tropical Freeze. Well, InFamous and Titanfall looked good, but not something I'd pay $60 for. I wrote longer impressions about it, but tl;dr is that its a very satisfying shooter with some old school quirks and craftsmanship that makes it very enduring to a certain type of player. I'm glad to have supported MachineGames, we need more good meaty FPS titles like this.

Transistor next, and then Mario Kart 8.

Wolfenstein is giving me strong Resistance vibes. WW2 mixed with a 'resistance' and some solid shooting.

Darkness 2 was a worthy sequel. Good choice.

Wolfenstein (PS4) - A few chapters in and loving it so far. Great old school FPS action. Gunplay is very satisfying.

Mario Golf (3DS) - Made it up to 51 challenge star coins... Played around a bit with the new Nabbit dlc.. And playing a weekly tourney with some friends in between.
