Gameplay is something that... it's a game, we make games, we can't get around it.
Putting story above gameplay? Really RAD?
I can't remember the last time I've played a bad game because of a great story, but I play good games with bad stories all the time.
The base of the pyramid is more important than the top.
Somw of you guys are fundamentally misunderstanding the quote.

I think story is always going to be at the top because it's what we start with. It's at the top of the pyramid and everything else supports that. I think it'd be more challenging to make a game for the gameplay's sake, then try to make a story that fits in there.
Going out on a limb here, but I don't expect a great story.
Hey guys, I'm a cook. Honestly, it doesn't matter if my dishes taste bad, as long they look impressive in the plate, and there's a lots of it.
Wat.
Calm down guys. This approach worked well for The Walking Dead games. Maybe RAD is on to something. If we could have a Telltale-esque game here, it could be something special!
Game director (Dana Jan): We don't even employ a game designer. We haven't had use for one since 2006 when we shipped Dexter.
Let's give Ready at Dawn shit for making the kind of game they want to make!! YEAHH!!!

You know that realisticaly they should be making games that other people want to play right? The whole point of this game making business is making money.
It never ever will for me. I have to play a game for hours. No matter what quality level the story is I can not play something I am not enjoying. If I want a good story I read a book or watch a film.
That quote reads like something David Cage would say. If you feel like you have to 'get around' the gameplay, don't make a game.
And not just on the development side, there are lots of suits pumping money into games and introducing exploitative practices quality be damned.Ferr986 said:Seems like this industry is starting to get "flooded" with people that don't even care about making actual games.
Story comes first, then graphics, then gameplay?
Come the fuck on!

Lol holy shit at people losing their minds over this. We've barely seen anything of the game, or story for that matter. Let's see more of what they have up their sleeve before we jump ship.
