Don't see the problem. We know what we're getting, and we have firm release dates for the DLC. This isn't a 'buy this season pass and maybe we'll tell you in six months time what you're getting', this is more like a pre-order.

You don't need to begin downloading to add games to your account. Just hitting the install button on the store page should be enough.

Grief, as far as PC goes, that extra content wasn't DLC.
It was only DLC for console peasants (which is why I haven't played it... c'mon FROM, where's that Dark Souls steamworks patch!); So for overall DLC available everywhere, I'd wager the 'net consensus is Minerva's Den (which I also haven't played yet).

I'm sure this isn't news for anyone, but I've been on vacation for a few weeks and haven't checked the Steam store. It default to "Top Sellers" for me now on all of my machines. Is this an admission from Valve that they are now flooding their store with shovelware?
I restarted Steam after I added the game to my account, yet It didn't actually show up in my library until I went back to the store page and initiated the install.
YMMV.
New Release tab is effectively useless at this point. Valve took the easy way out for the time being.

I'm still missing 1 and 2 at the moment, which sucks, cause they haven't been rebundled in a long time.

I just think it's pretty depressing how a lot of people even here, have completely come around to the idea of season passes and dlc.
Personally I still hate them both, I'll get this way down the line because I am burnt out on DSII.

Were you also down on them back when they were called "expansion packs" instead of DLC? If yes, then did you also think that Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal was crap?

Expansion packs are usually massive in comparison, come on now.
I opted out of Steam beta, and now I can see it (not installed) as part of my library.
Just wrapped up the story in Watch_Dogs. Overall enjoyable game. Well I say enjoyable, of course it sure isn't going to be to everyone's tastes and really for me it was a combination of great mechanics, good gameplay, average performance with some fucking huge caveats and *yaaawwwwnn* story. Saying that though those last 3 missions though something just clicked *snaps fingers* and everything came together (that last level was more hectic than any 5 star GTA chase I've been in).
I may have said 'chievos in Fallout was an unpopular opinion but this definitely is going to be as I found the ending (well the one I chose) to be very satisfying and wrapped the game up nicely. Granted there's a fair bit of arty farty subtext and ambiguous story telling going on here but hey it resonated with me well enough.
All in all story was a blast and will go 100% when Ubi patch it to get some performance more in line with my hardware. When I'm fully done I do a proper write up. Still looking forward to Watch_Doggies 2.0 set in somewhere like Paris

The one time i fell for the season pass nonsense was with Bioshock Infinite and lesson learned. Shit took forever to come out and when it did i got Clash of the Titans, some nonsense rushed bullshit made just to have something out there.

"DLC" is a catchall used to describe both things like a) Artorias / Minerva's Den / Dragon Age Origins: Awakening, as well as b) a gun or a vehicle skin. I think it's important to note the distinction.

I think there is a line. Generally, I hate Season Passes with a passion when the content is NOT announced. "Hey buy our season pass and you'll get some stuff eventually".
This, to me, is basically a DLC pack with a date (July 22nd) and they just happen to call it a season pass. You know what you are getting and you know when you are getting.
