Honestly this is another Kirby: Return to Dreamland. Gets early alpha trailers, goes away for some years, comes out randomly years later (2016/2017). I will eat crow if wrong...
They'd have more of an impact if they just released it online. No one would be watching TGS, no one would hear about it from TGS. They'd hear about it from 4 different layers of people who finally got it from TGS.
So they won't do it. Much more likely it's dead, and it's a relief to think that's the truth.
No point waiting like a starving dog at a grave for the master to return from the earth.
Just wait until TGS
Right after this scene, Arnie falls off a hundred story building to his demise, Bugs Bunny-style.
The Last Guardian at this point is just set out to make sure I never enjoy another E3 again, so much disappointment
Just wait until TGS
You could have told someone this in 2009. They could have had a child. They would be around 4 now. And you could tell that child to wait until TGS too and they would be able to somewhat understand you (at least understanding the general concept of 'waiting')
Think about that.
I can't understand why the game has been stuck in development limbo. They seemed to have such a solid direction for it. Perhaps that's it - they aren't willing to compromise the original vision due to technical limitations. I don't know.
The game looked to be well into production years back.
You were able to determine all that from what they showed 5 years ago?I can't understand why the game has been stuck in development limbo. They seemed to have such a solid direction for it. The game looked to be well into production years back. How did they fuck it up?
It looked like a difficult concept to make into a game.
Probably what killed it. They just couldn't make it happen. But Ueda's name kept its spooky old bones dancing for years.
How many games and completed trilogies have we had since then? Think about it...
I have made an image to try and bring humor to our sad situation.
And another to commemorate Cocktease 2014.
Man, i got my hopes up with the last trailer when the Sony Computer Entertainment thing appeared. I've never thought that someday i would feel disappointed when i saw a Naughty Dog logo :<

I doubt it was ever playable, what you saw was an artistic vision but one where art + game didn't mix.
Ueda over-reached with this one.
