360 HDMI-IN on Xbox One, no lag, but 240p?

Okay, I have tried searching but the most I can find is people complaining and everyone else disbelieving, so I will post a picture of what I am seeing.

Just bought Anarchy Reigns for Xbox 360 during the sale and was having a blast, until I realised I wish I could snap Netflix etc. -- what is going on here?

Between this HDMI-IN stuff and Remote Play for PS4, I'm pretty disappointed since these were features I was really looking forward to. At the very least help me fix this awful bug!

Just to state. If I press "X" on my Xbox One controller, it goes full quality for a second then returns to this awfulness, so the Xbox One is definitely receiving the correct signal.

I'll go ahead and say it: have you tried turning your Xbox One completely off (hold power button for about 6-8 seconds) and turning it back on?

That's the magical cure for every Xbox One issue I've had, lol.

Otherwise, no idea.

Is display discovery disabled or enabled on the X360? That may affect it. I run my PS4 through it and have no lag at all.

I find there is a lot of input lag, using the 360 in this manner through my Xbox One.

Especially when playing original Xbox games that are supported through BC.

Although there is no issue with resolution.

=/ thank you.

It works normally now. That was extremely weird. Mods feel free to lock this thread...

What a strange issue.

Kinda annoying because when it was degrading the quality there was almost zero lag, now there is a ton like normal.

I've been meaning to test this but didn't feel like messing with wires if the latency was as bad as the internet was saying at release. So the latency hasn't been too bad? I've seen some YouTube videos saying there's barely any if at all but then people comment that it's bs. I'm an HDMI port ahort and would love to run my 360 through my XB1.

Slightly off topic, but has Microsoft blocked certain devices from being used through the HDMI in port? I haven't tried my 360, but the Wii U just shows up as a black screen on my XB1.

Nah the issue I was having is like when YouTube switches to 240p. Now that everything is back to normal the lag is there like always.

EDIT: Oh MY

So turning down the resolution of the Xbox 360 actually decreases the lag? Playing on 480p is much better than 1080p etc. Setting the Xbox 360 to 720p might be the best idea and let the Xbox One do the upscaling for you.

WOOOOOW this is totally playable now!

I don't get any lag when running my Xbox 360 running through it either. I thought it was weird as everybody seemed to state it wasn't worth trying to play games through it but I've played games like Fifa, Halo, Cod and GTA through it without noticing any lag at all - it's brilliant.

Nope, I've used my Wii U through it numerous times.

Wait, how has remote play failed to meet expectations?

I thought it would allow me to play in the next room with consistent lag, not the video quality suffering or outright freezing depending on what is happening on screen.

What I found out about HDMI-IN

Xbox 360 output resolution affects latency (480p less than 1080p etc.)
Blacks a considerably crushed when using HDMI-IN

=(

Make sure that you're Xbox 360 is using the same RGB settings as your Xbox One is ;)

Xbox One RGB Limited <-> Xbox 360 Standard
Xbox One RGB Full <-> Xbox 360 Expanded

You can find these settings under;
Xbox 360:
Settings -> System -> Display -> Reference Levels

Xbox One:
Settings -> Display & Sound

Eh gave it a try. I lowered my resolution to 720 but still noticing a ~half second latency. Unplayable for games like Dark Souls 2, which is about the only thing I'm keeping old consoles around for. Really hope they do a Dark Souls collection for the new boxes soon.

I use Full colour and Expanded, and it crushes the blacks. I just don't bother with the HDMI-IN. Lag is fine, but crushing blacks is too much.
