So after watching episode 202 of Gintama I have to say it was so freakin hilarious. Seeing the cast suddenly change after a one year break but Shinpachi still staying the same killed me. Some changing due to a wart, what the hell ahahahah. Then finding out that Kyuubei transplanted the male sex organ to herself and Katsura becoming a women. And most of all Gorilla marrying Otae, I meant Kondo. This series never ceases to amaze me soo good.

Fuck Funi. The fuck is this shit. Don't fucking promise me a blu-ray over a fucking show that you know will rake in cash and just forget about it. I imagine that you are vigorously rubbing your nipples right now in pure ecstasy at my tears you god damn bastards.

First Brazil wins by being dirty corrupt fucks, now this. Is this karma?

And here I thought I was free from this here. meh.

Aldnoah Zero 1

That was super predictable. It's not really a good thing when you can see every single story beat coming 5 minutes before it happens. The
nuke
was a pretty crazy scene but other than that there wasn't anything that really drew me in. Also why New Jersey?

Wasn't it New Orleans?

Was gonna check out this Aldonoah thing, but then decided to wait until later since I'm not exactly in the mood for an episode of anime that's essentially all plot-exposition according to what the impressions have stated.

Instead, I'll prepare myself for the already released Jojo dub by continuing Battle Tendency.

I've been at it all day man, I don't want to get into it for the hundredth time so consider the subject dropped.

If it makes you feel any better, just in case you missed it: I finished the main story of Baccano! a few pages back and I now consider it one of the greatest shows of all time. Like really, I think it's that good. Thanks for adding it to the watchbet.

im having a nightmare sort of work night and this made me laugh. Thanks.

I'm pretty surprised at how Funimation is picking up the home video rights to most of their simulcasts. I guess they're adapting a bit of Sentai's strategy. Maybe they just didn't want to lose out on tons of properties like last season (where Sentai grabbed the home video rights for around 13 new shows).

Unusual for them to pick up Barakamon, but it's a nice change.

I always wonder how these companies make money licensing so many shows. They have to outsource or something.

No problem Nintendoman. If you can point me to it I'd love to give it a read. And if you ever get into Great Teacher Onizuka you won't be disappointed, one of the greatest anime as well. Well, properties. The anime ended in a really weird way, so it's better to stop one arc before it ends and continue with the manga.

And now that I've mentioned GTO I have to repost one of my favorite OP's of any show

Sailor Moon Crystal 1

that was ok I guess, besides from the awful cg transformation which we already knew about and the voice of usagi which I never liked.

Tokyo Ghoul 1

like somebody already pointed out, yes, very predictable. I also didn't like how she died, totally forced. the same goes for how he got the organs, I expect them to explain at least something about that.
the guy that was at the beginning might be an insteresting character.

What are the odds that the ending of Aldnoah Zero involves using the god-like powers of the Aldnoah to go back in time and remove the Hypergate from the moon before mankind ever found it, hence creating the reality we have today? Lol.

Then after the credits all we see is
the final scene of Lighting Returns
.

Actually the ending was leaked. The way it ends is that they enter a new dimension when traveling through time, where everything is CG.

Very nice. Make sure to watch the OVA's. I describe them as fan service of the right kind. Most if not all of the main characters basically hanging out having adventures and having a good time. If you played Mass Effect 3, this is basically that Hangover Citadel DLC they released. But they're actually a continuation and plot relevant.

Sword Art Online Extra Edition
I finally got through it and I think I got the gist of what it's all about. I really don't think I could have gone and watch the whole thing so I'm glad this cliff notes version exists. Anyways, off to SAO II.

Isn't still an odd choice to stage an invasion of the US? (I know nothing of American geography)

No it's a perfectly logical choice. New Orleans has one largest shipping ports in america, so much cargo is being handled each day. That means supplies are going being cut out. Also because it's what the writer wanted.

Watched Sailor Moon, Aldnoah and Tokyo Ghoul.

Sailor Moon was alright, I guess. I remember watching a couple of episodes when I was a kid. I think I actually liked the show until at some point they go into a seemingly final confrontation and get amnesia after winning and forget all about their adventures. That's where my hate for all deus ex machina endings come from. About the new show, uh, I'll probably watch the second episode, it's alright if a little bit generic, but then again it's been used as a template for other shows so many times I don't see how it couldn't seem generic nowadays.

Tokyo Ghoul was insanely disappointing. So many plot holes. If ordinary weapons can't kill ghouls, how did the ghoul-girl die? When the doctor was operating on him, didn't he notice the huge bite in his shoulder and deduce the girl was a ghoul, which would've prevented the already stupid let's-transplant-her-organs-into-him thing? If it's common knowledge the ghouls hate normal food, how did his doctor not suspect anything when he reported that exact symptom? Not watching one second more of this.

About Aldnoah... I think I'll stick to Gundam. How was S2 of Gundam 00? I kind of want to watch it now. I remember the first season being passable.

Everything I was getting got delayed so now it's just Kill la Kill V1.

Maybe i'll get Maou and SKB though, idk. What were the good deals you got on them, the Section23 sale a little bit back?

English speaking countries in general can't watch it via crunchyroll as easily as others. Funi is streaming it to these countries. Other countries can watch it via Crunchyroll.

Okay, that's what I thought. I thought they were being super cocks and saying that places like Alaska and Hawaii don't count because fuck you.

Just a question for y'all. I get why you buy figurines and other merch, but why buy bluray/dvd's of anime?

I buy games because i can resale/trade-in, but i don't imagine anime being like that. But unless its some rare/old anime that isn't streamed in any form (has anime ever been taken down netflix style due to licensing expiration?), why do you buy?

BARAKAMON will be available to Crunchyroll’s audience in the following territories: Europe (excluding UK and Ireland), the Middle East, North Africa, and all states/territories incorporated into the USA pre-1959.

No Funimation isn't. They stream for the US and I guess Canada. Even the delayed hand me down sd stream on Hulu doesn't.

So I either bypass the Hulu geolock for a shitty add filled subpar Hulu stream or go with a fansub.

new Orleans is a large port at the mouth of the largest most important river in the US.

Because like you said some anime (a lot) expires on streaming sites. I want a more permanent method of viewing anime than digital streaming.

I buy shows I like. I sort of cut down recently on what I buy.

I buy to keep my favorite anime in the best form available. Streaming assumes I'll always have a decent internet connection, which isn't the case for everytime. Plus blu-ray I'll have the superior version, especially in the audio department.

Funny enough the anime largely isn't available for streaming all the time. Baccano, Steins;Gate, Black Lagoon, etc...

Some shit you just HAVE to own. Akira for example. And the Berserk Golden Age Arc trilogy of films. Glorious CG.

mahouka 14

for a show about 'fight classes', they sure like the subvert that saying that only people gary stu has blessed with his penis can only do anything.

Seems like shit might actually happen soon. Conflict in this anime might happen 14 eps in!

I love Blu-Ray, and there's lots of anime that look great on it. I like to collect!

Collecting anime isn't a main hobby of mine though. Collecting figures and video games is something I'm more active in. Though lately I haven't gotten very many figures. Hopefully I'll find something to change that soon.

oh no. they cut the craw dad supply line.

I buy more figures than anything else. I don't buy much anime on dvd/blu-ray at all. Usually only stuff I've wanted to see but never got around to for whatever reason, or stuff I saw and really liked. And even then, only if it's a reasonable price. I got the Toradora Blu-Ray set in the mail last week for $95 (which I forgot I even ordered), but on the other hand, buying six discs of Yamato 2199 @ $45 each, for example, is out of the question. And I won't usually buy a Funimation series separated into two parts for more than $30 / part.

You know I've noticed a glaring issue with Mahouka (shock and terror):
90% of the prominent students introduced so far seem to be prodigies or one-of-a-kind motherfuckers. For something that wants me to believe that our lead is the ultimate gary stu batman, they really need to stop making everybody else that as well. It loses some of its effect.

He goes to like the best magic school or something. Also nobody else ever even comes close to that guy, so I dunno what you're talking about.

If they tried to be realistic, 90% of the students would be weeds and the show would be boring as fuck. Some suspension of disbelief is required for most anime. :p
