Oft hope is born when all is forlorn.
Funnily enough, the thing I'm most excited for at the moment is finding out what new additions to the other five maps of H2A have from their original versions. Ascension has a bubble shield, Coagulation will have...dynamic weather? Hm.

lol I think Gungoose is enough of a change for Coagulation.

More blain, less dong plz.

I have been following this thread for a while. This thread actually kickstarted my decision making about when to buy an xbox one. Happy to say I joined the team. Can't wait to replay MCC and get into pre-Halo 3 multi.

I am going to struggle figuring out where to begin when I actually get my hands on this thing.

Have you guys decided what you're actually going to try first?

Getting the game at midnight then Halo 3/GAF donging parties til I pass out.

Can't fuckin' wait.

For reals. Imagine what could have been. *shudder*

I don't even want to.

It basically confirmed my speculation earlier in this thread, though:

I really think, judging from all the developer quotes throughout the years, that the Halo CE multiplayer suite was kind of an afterthought and the fact that it was so amazing was more or less a very serendipitous event that Bungie never really appreciated as much as its hardcore fans did.

Beta comes with digital download as well right? I've only seen stuff like "pre-order at [insert store] now for access to the Halo 5 beta!"

Yup, the beta will be accessible from in game menu for everyone who has MCC in the time of Halo 5 beta comes out.

Marty is back.

BELIEVE

As much as I want this, I highly doubt this would ever happen :(

Yeah, it likely won't happen, but if it did then I would never worry about Halo music again. It's not that Halo 4's was bad, but Marty knew how to make Halo music that worked so well with the gameplay.

Halo 2 MP --> Halo 2 MP --> Halo 2 MP --> Halo 3 MP --> Halo 2 Campaign

Halo 2 campaign, then the Halo 4 campaign are the first two things on my list. Then, out of curiosity, and to see if I have an improved opinion of it, I'll play the Halo 3 campaign before finally going back to the Halo CE campaign.

In terms of multiplayer, nothing is going to top having H2 back on that disc. The campaigns are something to argue, but I never saw anything better outside of CE and H2 in terms of MP.

I was gone all weekend but they showed Coag concept art but not the actual map? lol what.
The concept art looked awesome, at least. We might finally get a totally new, unique look to Blood Gulch.

Woah, what is GAF donging? It sounds like it could be amazing...

Edit:

I didn't play the campaign for 1-3 so I'm picking it up at midnight, taking the next day of work off, and banging out those missions. I honestly can't wait!

Filling out a party with people who are talkative, cooperative, and friendly to dong drop randoms. It's a grand ole time.

My gosh that sounds amazing. How can I get in on that??

I'm gonna play through all the Halo games chronologically. I'm gonna have Wars and Reach beat a few days before launch and play ODST after H2A. After I finish all the Campaigns Im gonna jump into the multiplayer and I will take a break after I am taken to the hospital for dehydration... Ok maybe I'm too excited for this :)

You should actually play through ODST right after the Metropolis mission in Halo 2 if you want to be chronologically correct.

Also just go full Halo and add watching FUD before playing Wars( I think FUD takes place at some point during Halo Wars actually. Where's Greencastle when you need him?).

I'm gonna jump right into Team Slayer or BTB; I think both those playlists will include all 4 games.

Anyone know who the best person is to contact on twitter to ask a question about the game?

Now that sounds like a plan.

So, who's up for Halo MCC All Campaigns CLASO?

Oh yeah, it's gonna happen.

I've barely bothered with stuff like this before because the online co-op netcode was so garbage. But with dedicated servers that sounds really fun! I'm excited to see that kinda stuff become more viable.

All the campaigns, again, starting from CE. Then a revisit of Spartan Ops. Then multiplayer, though I don't expect to play it long - people will have crazy map knowledge from years and years of playing, and I'd be learning everything anew - not looking forward to that kind of thrashing, nor expecting to get through it really. Will at least dip my toes in anyway, just for shits.

This part interests me a lot e.g. I doubt they're upgrading from lockstep button input latency for Halo 3 coop but it should be far more enjoyable with local friends on a local Azure server.

I wonder for the Halo 2 coop if the networking tech is different or just shoe-horned in? It would be a really great technical article or Q&A session IMO.

I can't wait to bring some old school CTF and assault parties to the newly initiated Halo fans :) Map, settings and gametype experience is such a massive skill gap in itself. If you have ever liked objective in Reach or 4 then you're in for a real treat come Halo CE/2/3 on dedis. I'll just bookmark your post right here because I have a feeling you'll dive in to try it and end up staying a looong while.

I still can't believe this collection exists! Halo 1-4 AND the Halo 5 beta!

Absolutely amazing value here.

Yep, it's still pretty damn hard to believe it's even happening at all, much less this year, in the same exact package, and at $60. You see the RTX panel that touched on how they're creating these custom playlists for each game's campaign, where, for example, I could play strictly Master Chief missions in Halo 2, or strictly Arbiter missions? You could obviously do this type of thing yourself with the options they've made available in this collection, but I like how they're making it more accessible to all.

I think i would first play some halo2A multiplayer, then play the campaign because I haven't played it yet only halo campaign I haven't. Because I couldn't afford an Xbox back then.

That'd be great if so.

I've only ever dabbled in Halo multiplayer, spending more time in each game's multiplayer in turn, and in that dabbling I ran into a lot of things that I think Halo 4 was trying to answer - not knowing where the power weapons and ammo were - getting screamed at or even betrayed by teammates for not letting them have the power weapon I just stumbled upon, or finding myself in the middle of a match between a full team and one at half strength. I mean, I know why people don't like Halo 4, but I also appreciate a lot of what it was trying to do, especially for newer players.

Its been so long though that I have to jump back into Halo 2 and 3. Will be pleasantly surprised if those end up hooking me more than Halo 4.

Thanks, I'll send him a tweet. I asked in here awhile ago but got no response.

I'm wondering if they'll include the original samples from the multiplayer announcer in each game.

I think it's safe to assume that the original audio will be in for each game.

So I guess I'm still a bit confused, how does the multiplayer work with a collection this big? Do you commit to a game in a menu, like "I want to play Halo 1 multiplayer!" or can you join servers that cycle through all 100 maps, or what? I get the campaign playlist thing
