Battlefest! Month long celebration of Battlefield 4.

As we head into the thick of summer, we wanted to do something for our fans and are kicking off a special event called Battlefest. This is a festival built for gamers, specifically Battlefield 4, filled with weekly rewards, contests and in-game content.

To get Battlefest started, we’re giving everyone a weekend of double XP from July 12-13, so if you need to level up your game, now is a good time to start or get back into the game.

Month long Battlefield promotions with daily giveaways and a bunch of goodies.

The game is as good as it gets on PS4/XB1, so if you need an excuse, use this to jump in! Most of the major bugs/lag/rubberbanding are fixed.

So are they basically rolling out the Apology Festival features again? Sounds like there will be Battlepack handouts and stuff.

Neat, I guess. I should hop back in the PC version sometime soon.

Well the game is as good as it should've been released. DICE LA has been working hard on bugs/balance for the past few months now and even now there's lots more updates coming.

This is the best MP game on PS4/XB1 and it's a shame many people are missing this due to how bad it was at release. If this game was delayed one year it would've been one of the best multiplayer games in 2014.

Double XP event are so dumb. If players think levelling up in your game is such a chore then maybe your design sucks?

That said... I've been meaning to play a little BF4 again so I guess now would be as good as time as any.

They have another double xp a month from now, to close out the "summer celebration".

Premium members do get another double xp weekend 2 weeks from now.

What ever happened to games that had the weapons and ammo dispersed around the level and didn't have level-up bars to fill? Where you spawn with your shit pistol and have to find something better in the level. Where pure knowledge of the environment and skill of the player was what won instead of being the first to fill your bars up.

BF4 has pickups, and some of them are downright OP.

Leveling up in BF4 is not like other games, some of the best weapons could be very early in the category they're in. Like one of the best Light Machine Guns can be unlocked from finishing the single player (M249), and one of the best (if not the best) assault rifle you can unlock is only the second one you unlock.

That's how it was all of November-December and then again in February.

EA deserves shit for how bad this game released, but they have put work on fixing it more than any other game I've played, and if you dismiss this game out of spite of EA, I totally get it and it's 100% right to do so.

It's one of the most fun games you can play tho, so if you can get over the baggage, it's simply amazing.

It's too bad. Balance issues (that exist in most every game) aside, now that it's working the game is probably rad, but it just took too long. I'll usually play a BF game right up until the next one releases but haven't touched this in months and my enthusiasm is zapped.

No.

The simple fix for this is to save your game to a USB drive every time you log off, just to be sure. Campaign is only like 6 hours long and you can repeat the last mission to unlock the other 2 weapons from it.

This is one bug that perplexes me, how can they not find a solution to it, with all the attention they are giving to the multiplayer aspect of the game.

If you want to do something for your fans, why not fix the fucking game?

For example, after the latest patch the squad option completely fucks up the ability to leave a squad you created, join a new one or switch teams.
And that's just one of it's many flaws, 9 months after release.

Double XP and Skins. SMH. You would think for all the bullshit the players had to put up with for damn near 6 months after release they would cough up a free map at least as an apology.

Not so much a huge fan, just peer pressure to play with friends who play on PS4.

I'd sell my Xbox One copy but that just seems a waste of premium.

It was called Scavenger in BF3. It wasn't a popular mode so they ditched it in BF4. Leveling in BF isn't very important (even though I'm kind of addicted to it but it's just between me and other clanmates). Still, good knowledge of how your chosen weapon works means a lot in this game (but sadly less than in BF3).

I couldn't disagree more.

Probably the worst £100 I've ever spent (admittedly half of that is my own fault for been an OCD DLC completionist). But anything thats taken nearly a year to be "playable" isn't as good as it gets.

I'd wager more that Battlefield 4 is "as good as its (Battlefield 4) going to get on PS4/XB1" which isn't really saying much.
