Pretty much the entire top 8 was incredibly hype for me. Ho-Chan's Yukiko, LK's Mitsuru, and BRKRDV's Teddie especially were awesome to watch. Stuff like this is just part of why I enjoy Arena so much, and I'm glad to see it went out on a high note before Ultimax comes in. It might have just been a side event this year but it was probably the hypest bit of the day for me to watch lol.

And now I patiently wait for Ultimax...

Amazing finals. A little sad that BK didn't get any farther, but every single match there was incredibly good. Breakerdave versus LK and Ho-chan versus pretty much everyone were insanely hype matches.

If I'm not mistaken last year the final was a guy with Mitsuru x other guy with Aigis. Aigis won. Was it the same characters? Who won?
It was LK's (same guy as last year) Mitsuru vs Ho-Chan's (not the same guy as last year) Yukiko. LK took the win. 3-1.

Taking about that, does anyone know any YT channels wheere they post those videos? Like fighting games tournament and such.
I'm really bad at those games but I love watching them.

I was really rooting for my fellow Yukiko player, but I was expecting LK to win it. Stunedge had to win two sets, plus that's not a very good match up for Yukiko. :(

Props to Stunedge for making it as far as he did though. I thought for sure he'd lose to Bananaken (an even worse match up).

The Atlus USA Ultimax stream from today was archived, I was skipping through looking for people playing Junpei, noticed a couple things. Forgive me if these are old:

http://www.twitch.tv/atlususa/b/546582471

Shadow Rise's
risque
win pose- 3:20:10

Naoto's new voice - 5:25:10 (if you go a bit before that you can hear Mercer do Kanji's win quote, maybe? Only hear it a few seconds, hard to tell if it's Troy or Matt honestly. I assume Mercer)

For Naoto, either the new VA grunts and shrieks EXACTLY like the new one, or they're mixing voice clips. Unfortunately she gets demolished by Shadow Kanji so we don't get a lengthy win quote.

Wait, was Atlus streaming all day?
I never even heard anything about this.

Yeah. Apparently the setup that was being streamed had an unwritten rule that you're only supposed to use new characters (according to one of my friends that attended, anyway), but that rule was broken several times and some people went on winning streaks beating up on people dicking around with new characters.

There was also about an hour where it seemed like it was mostly Rise mirrors, and it was great.

One of the prizes for the tournament. Looked pretty cool.

P4AU TE2 in the process of being announced for NA release. They're also working closely with Atlus to get us the LE Shadow faceplate, too.

Does anyone have a picture of this? I really want to see it.

It's the latter. Same with Kanji.

Woah, that's amazing. It's really cool how well he translates his lineart style to traditional work.

EDIT: Have a very blurry screenshot of it:

I hope whoever won appreciates what a crazy prize it is. Also, those T shirts are weirdly badass.

If they sell that fightstick, I am buying it!

Also, Mamba, good work on Yumi's persona. I always liked that character, dont know why but she really resonated with me. Although that may just be because the other club option drives me up the wall.

Ps. due to it being 4 in the morning when the Arena stream happened, I was asleep :( anyone know if it was recorded?

Thanks for all the comments guys!

Yumi was actually one of my least favorite Social Link characters, but that might be just because she shared a voice with Anise from Tales of the Abyss.

And I hate Anise.

Well we have pun-Sho and evil menacing Sho. He is even split into two characters.
I don't think he's talking about Sho gameplay-wise.

I'm pretty sure they are two seperate people that exist at the same time. The old Best Buy description said Sho had a "Persona-wielding doppelganger" which implies two different people.

We knew he was human from Aigis (or Labrys) saying as much in the arcade story mode. The question was about how there is apparently a Plume of Dusk emanating from him, and how he is apparently a product of experimentation from the Kirijo group.

It's looking like 9/30 is Ultimax's actual release date. Gamestop updated their product page with the new box art, and it says:
http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/games/persona-4-arena-ultimax/115140#bonusFeatures said:
FREE to download for the first week after launch is new DLC character
Tohru Adachi and his Persona Magatzu-Izanagi
(Available 9/30/14-10/6/14)

Green Mamba, you gotta get yourself set up as the visual designer for some indie out there.

What if Sho is really a (P4U spoiler-kind-of)
super-duper stealth android?

Lovely. Where did you get the idea for the foot-rings?

That can't be true in Persona, all androids must be gynoids for waifu purposes.
:p

Oh, I didn't notice it was a Teusday. Sweet. So, a month long gap between the JP and NA releases.

Atlus USA has been insisting that the date is placeholder, even though it seems that September 30 is going to be it. Still not official, and it's the date for the end of a quarter, but it might be it.

Not sure about those Shadow faceplates, but I assume the P4AU TE2 is this

Information and Shadow faceplate.

Edit: Atlus USA streaming Ultimax again.

They have to do that until they put it in a press release. Dates for games like this are always up on retailers months before. Catherine was the same way.

Ahh, apparently they didn't re-record the fighting (excluding new things, I guess), so that's why I thought it was the same.

Another thing, maybe I'm looking too much into it, but the Atlus rep, who has been answering almost every question, has been ignoring all dual audio related questions.
Maybe something's up.

I really don't see why having a transformer robot is a problem when there is that infamous "Touch my papillon heart" scene which is basically robot sex.

lol I always wonder the meaning of that... I mean unless Kirijo group made some "upgrades" (which I hope they didn't) it's impossible to have "robot sex". Right...?

I feel that new Naoto suffers the same problem original P4 Chie had. Sometimes her voice sounds too old for a teenager.
Nope, have to stop you there--I've said it many times before, but teenagers have far more vocal range than most people give them credit for. I think cartoons, anime, and video games have warped people's knowledge of what teenagers actually sound like. Most people actually have their adult voice in high school (I know I did). Original Chie and new Naoto sound like they could be teenagers, just maybe not what you're used to.

Aigis's Social Link was in part her acting out her sexual frustrations because she's physically incapable of doing it but had a desire to be physically intimate with the protagonist--the heart touching was her closest approximation.

Shmeeb you legend, got this on my future viewing schedule :D

I'm not hearing it. If anything, she sounds higher to me.

It is higher but higher doesnt always mean younger. To be honest I think they got a great replacement so far, will be interesting to see what she sounds like in other situations in the story for this and throughout Q though.
