Really, the way I see it Microsoft likely isn't going to get close to the PS4 this gen. I'm guessing by the end of the 5 years it'll be something like 80 M vs 50 M (shot in the dark, don't quote me on this or anything). The best way for Microsoft to stage a comeback is really just pushing a higher quality line-up of exclusives harder than Sony. They've revealed a ton of new exclusives at E3, and while many of them are high quality they are too far out to make a difference now.

PlayStation family > Xbox family is actually quite interesting, since the 360 still regularly outsells the PS3 by at least a factor of two. This indicates that the PS4 absolutely walloped the Xbone by at least 50k,which is bad news for Microsoft.

Get more exclusives out that helps segregate the console from the PS4, which I imagine people see as the better console to play multiplatform games on due to resolutionFPS-gate.

Once the exclusives start coming it will start doing better. Look at Mario Kart.

Where are they going to get them? 3rd parties are out of the question and it takes time to build up your 1st party. Even then, MS showed that they value old IPs rather than new ones by making Black Tusk work on a new GOW.

Well when the word of mouth of one game is "It's worst one yet" and the other is "the game is fucking broken", I don't think cod or bf benefited from any word of mouth.

off of life support for the time being. unfortunately this will probably be its best non-holiday month ever. i fully expect it to be below 60k again next month.

ps4 sitting comfortably. xbone price drop seems to have had a negligible effect outside of moving some sales that would have been already been made in May to June. kind of surprised as ms news/sentiment has been trending up (outside of today's downsizing announcements).
