I was hoping for a gif of this. GAF delivers.

Also, yeah..... gross. This is so.... gross.

Nothing will ever be as revolting as that extra bag of cornchips motherf***er Drake turning into a robot that got played so many times when I went to the movies.

Sex sells virtually every where. Maybe not N Korea but pretty much everywhere. I didn't mind the commercial. That girl was hot

South Korea.
Not North Korea.

If you have to do lots of takes of the same shot you'll feel like crap by the end of it. It's the same with all food commercials, they'd be barfing by the end if they swallowed.

I'd know, I live here.

Given that the elements of pop-culture involving women are just as(or even more) prevalent in countries that don't outlaw those things, it doesn't seem like there is any causal relationship there.

Not really, since it's been noticeably prevalent after the crackdownn on internet porn started

Ever since kpop has gotten popular I always find the music videos amusing because they look like they looked at a bunch of early 2000s/late 90s hip hop and pop videos and copied them and so it feels like they are a decade behind in terms of music videos atleast.

I don't know, this music video recently came out and if I saw that ten to fifteen years ago my mind would've been blown. It's no Michel Gondry when it comes to cool looking music videos but being outdated definitely doesn't come to mind. Also just for the hell of it here's one directed by Chan-Wook Park. If it's a good enough scene for the guy who made Old Boy it's good enough for me :P

I love how when the main girl finally has her chance to open her sprite it just continues to shoot water all over sexy girls in skimpy clothes rather than men.

Is something wrong with me when all I could think of was "I wonder many cosmetic surgeries have these ladies had..."?

No, I feel the same way. It's such a huge industry over there I'm always skeptical of a Korean woman's beauty. Glory Lee, who was a Miss Korea contestant from NY, said almost every other contestant had had plastic surgery.

Meh, how is this any different than any other "sexy" ad in other countries? If were calling out Korea... why not take a second to look at your country's commercials I bet they are the same or worse.

Feel free to make a thread about your country's commercials. This one is about Korean commercials. I see these every day, I have no clue what it's like in another country.

Judging by the attention this thread has received, these commercials aren't humdrum business-as-usual the way people keep saying. If it is so commonplace there wouldn't be so many people fawning over the videos and saying that they wished more commercials were like this, etc.

They are clearly at least somewhat noteworthy in how unnecessarily sexualized they are, which is the point of the thread.

At least in the US, there is usually an element of humor mixed in.

I don't know man; I agree that there is just something not quite right about these ads and I can't put my finger on it.

Asian culture. Being over here in the region I have realized how racist AND sexist they are.

Videos are fine though. Very tame for over here, you should see the electronic expos they hold.
Yes, because USA the greatest country in the world is free of all this problems.

Living a few years in Taiwan doesn't make you a fucking expert on "Asian culture".

I saw an ad a couple of days ago, hot chick in bikini washing a car, got wet, tits shot, ass shot, and she took a bite out of a hamburger, and another blond chick joined her.

There's no humor in it unless you think exposed skin is funny.

They're shit, that's the problem. Even putting aside the shoehorned sexuality the ad is more about some bizarre spectacle than the actual product.

I would say, I think the humor aspect is in a lot of commercials. But we no doubt have some commercials that are just purely for sex. I think what is a bit strange about this one, is how the male is walking around shooting water all over women. And even when the female gets to do the same thing, it just results in water spraying over more women, all for the gratification of the male.

I guess when you break it down, having an ad where a women sells a product with sexuality, is basically the same as this ad. But i think this kind of ad rubs people the wrong way, because of the male guy kind of walking around sexualizing random women with the product. A girl modeling a product feels less like objectification, then an ad where a dude uses the product to get his fantasy.

At least, that's my guess on why this sort of thing would rub people the wrong way. I personally don't care for any of these kind of ads, I'm just taking a stab at why some might not like them as opposed to other ads that do the same thing. I'm open to discussing why the above is wrong (if some of you disagree with it).
