One of the biggest mysteries to me is his nonappearance in PSAS.
I had assumed it was more than likely due to his Smash appearance. Though I guess it could have just been Konami wanting to promote their newest game much like what capcom did with DmC dante.

That's entirely what it was. PS All-Stars was a new IP from an unproven developer. The publishers probably only felt safe offering characters from new releases, and I doubt they saw the game as anything more than a cheap marketing opportunity.

I've been here for a few days now, but thanks for the welcome! This was just my first attempt at an avatar quote. Saw it all the time in my lurking days but never quite understood the context of proper usage. Thanks for that.

I'm actually kinda looking more forward to Oric's countdown than the PotD nowadays. Can't wait.

There is nothing more deflating than staying up until two o'clock in the morning and being greeted with a Smash Bros. menu screen. I'm never doing that again.

I'm surprised the PS1 mascots Lara Croft & Spyro didn't make the cut. Tomb Raider 2013 was a few months away from All-stars' release, and Skylanders could've been advertised through old-school or new-ugly Spyro being playable.

I wonder how much of it was Kojima's reluctance to entrust them with his baby, especially given his clout within Konami and relative closeness to the director of the last fighting game Snake was in. Raiden allowed Konami promotion within the game, while allowing Kojima to keep Snake for himself, or possibly Sakurai.

I'm already digging through the list of unverified ones (with some verifications already having been made), but anyone who hasn't heard from me and could just let me know would be great!

If only we had just started with the rules from the second poll, but hindsight is 20/20. Sorry for the rough start and we should be back on track tonight; fortunately, with people having responded pretty quickly so far, I don't foresee to many changes needing to happen.
