Am I the only one who's actually kind of annoyed? I mean, I'm hype as hell for the crossover stuff (Hoping all the F-Zero teasing means that they're building up to a full-on F-Zero character pack), and new stages are great
Wario's Gold Mine being ass aside
, but Tanooki Mario and Cat Peach? Seriously? Dry Bowser's slightly less bad, but why are we getting him, too? Now we have 2 Bowsers (10 Turtles), 3 Peaches, and 3 Marios!
I was hoping for DLC we'd see neglected Mario characters like Wart or Pauline, or even spin-off characters like Vivian or Mona. When the hell are we getting Diddy? Jr.? Birdo? I think we came to a consensus that Diddy Kong Racing U was little more than a happy rumor, and thus in no way has to do with us not having Diddy, right? Especially now that this is treading on its territory, so instead of being newer, lower-key characters fighting for the top, like Dillon, Mallo, Tempo, or Wonder Red (Why is he lower-key, by the way?), it's just Smash Kart? Ugh... The characters they cut to cram in half a roster's worth of babies, turtle kids, and T-1000s (And now furries, I guess) better be quick-and-dirty DLC in-between, because May 2015 is a hell of a long ways off.
I just hope you can buy the bundle when Pack 1 comes out so I can get those colored Shy Guys. That and it'll be cheaper and I plan on getting both packs anyway. I don't want to wait till May to save money and get mah shy guiz.
This is what I was thinking as well. They could have pulled the same old and pulled out old characters no one but the hardcore would know, or they could go all in on the new audience they've been nurturing with the 3DS and the Wii.
Well, this is surprising news. I'd like to see Dixie Kong added to the roster, but the inclusion of Isabelle is an acceptable substitute. It would be cool to see others characters and levels based on say, Pikmin 3 too. Anyway, I think it is smart of Nintendo do to this as a way to keep one of his flagship titles relevant on an annual basis, and will naturally further help drive software sales in the long run.

Yeah, I was actually kinda being serious. Except for the Ugh part.
I think this is definitely supposed to appeal to girls, mostly younger I would guess. And maybe Link for the older ones....? Dunno. If it gets a TV ad we'll see for sure.
So Diddy Kong would be worthless for that. It's starting to make sense.
