Word of warning to anyone who owns Storm Casters. Do NOT update. It added new bugs for me - cards not showing up, red lines blocking out text, etc.

Epic Eric isn't doing it for me. The levels feel pretty repetitive, and the 'tap at the right point during the swing/spin' isn't as satisfying as I had hoped.

It also has some of the worst music I've heard in a while, and the second world continues the awful music.

Perhaps the level design gets more interesting in the later worlds, but it could just be that I don't get on with this type of thing. I didn't enjoy Roo Roo Run either, and at least this game doesn't nag you for IAP.

The game really gets alot more interesting the further you get. There is a lovely rube-goldberg feel to some of the more complex later levels that is sure to put a smile on your face. It is during these levels that the swing mechanics come into their own. I found them very satisfying once I got used to the various gadgets, and before long found myself subverting the level design, swinging over platforms and skipping swings, absolutely owning it.

I quite like the music, but I did play most of the game on mute, cos I'm at work. :)

Also, I can confirm that new levels are due as soon as next week, with a promise of a higher difficulty level. Which is exciting. There is so much scope for future updates.

Tiny Tower Vegas is out.

I've created the NEOGAF group, if anyone wants to join. :D

Is this pretty much the same as OG Tiny Tower and Star Wars? I haven't played one of these games in awhile and I wouldn't mind losing a little time to it. But if it's just a total reskin I might just restart Star Wars instead.

I'll try it for myself, I guess. TA says it's a true sequel to OG and gentler when it comes to IAP than Star Wars.

From a quick glance it seems to be only slightly different, it introduces many vegas mini-games (slots, poker, blackjack, etc) in to the mold that use their own "casino chip" currency. Winning the games earns you the bux used to upgrade the elevator/floors/etc. You get chips for doing a bunch of things, and bux as well... so you can still play it entirely free like always. It seems to take away the ability of what type of floor you build when you expand and just automatically gives you the different types (you can still move floors), but maybe that changes further in.

It should also be mentioned that you don't have to worry about building residential levels anymore to get employees. Instead you build hotel rooms that earn you even more money. The employees get stored in the lobby kinda like how you can store VIPs in the lobby in Tiny Death Star.

Finally downloaded The Nightmare Cooperative.

Launched it 'just to see how it is'.

Two hours ago.

WOW.
I wasn't really sold on gameplay from the trailers....but wow.
It glued me to the screen....wonderful art...wonderful music...incredibly HARD.

Loving it.

And...you can play BOTH on portrait AND landscape on iPhone.

I like it has an ending too...surprised there is 'loot' too.

Really really brilliant.

So I'm still playing some Godus. Wheat was never a brick wall for me...I've always had enough to keep building, but I go on maybe two or three times a day to collect and I have 20 or so wheat fields. I have the mountain residences so I collect around 45K worth of belief right now, which takes quite a while to burn through with sculpting. The game is a little slow for the first week, but once you hit those mountain residences, it really takes off since you get so much belief.

The base game is very similar, but a plenty of small details have been tweaked, so much that the overall experience feels refreshed to me.

I don't really get how the Players Club stuff works.
Right now it is related to Snorkel Slots, but don't know what counts towards the goal.

Anyway, add me if you want! 287G

Post your friend codes too. :)

OMG.

I wasn't expecting Nightmare Cooperative to be this addicting.

The 'just one more run' factor is amazing.
And scary.

How am I supposed to work now?

Really wanting The Nightmare Cooperative but debating on waiting for the Android version which the dev says there's not a firm date but "not far away". Just have more room to spare on my tablet and wouldn't have to make some painful deletions on my iPhone.

But, of course, even though I have PLENTY of games to play on both systems, I still have that impatience of wanting it NOW.

It's an addiction. I need some help. :(

Dragon Quest 8 dropped to $15. I have no idea how long it's gonna last but with the Groupon deal that's going around (get $15 for $10), doesn't seem like a bad deal.

Tiny Tower Vegas is pretty good. I wasn't going to download it because I thought I'd had my fill of them but I'm already hooked :(

Joined the GAF group. You win stuff depending on where you chart too. Sounds good. Lets do this!

Kind of disappointed that Nimblebit is just running Tiny Tower into the ground. Would have been nice to get a proper sequel that is actually a game instead of all these lame spinoffs.

IT'S SO ADDICTING!!!

What's groupon? How do I take advantage of that deal?

If you've never heard of Groupon, I imagine that you must not be in the US. If you are in the US, I just logged on groupon.com (you'll need to create an account if you don't have one) and the deal was listed on the first page. Basically a $15 iTunes redeem code for $10.

Not sure if it's available in every city (Groupon largely focuses on local deals to restaurants, entertainment, spas, etc.).

To clarify, I believe the theory of Groupon is to get deals as a "group" by getting deals in large volumes.

Wow 85, I saw your score on GC, pretty nice... I have no clue about the measures it takes to make it that big... as first I thought the first one on the leaderboards was a very early hacker.

I have to agree with you on the addictive. Since I got it yesterday I cant play any other game, always thinking The Nightmare Cooperative. Its so damn amazing!

58....I wish 85 :)
Now I can constantly get to the 50 mark (about midway through the caves) but then it's mind bending (so many new monsters).
I'm almost playing it like a real RPG now....I love the fighter/cleric/mage combo.

Amazing game...I didn't think it would have grabbed me so much...couldn't really tell from the videos.
Didn't expect to find loot too.
Great visuals and music too.

EDIT: 62 :p

Has anyone bought warhammer 40k carnage ? How is it ?
A fun but repetitive hack-n-slash. I like the visuals and you feel powerful, and it's cool how different gear and weapons gives you new attacks. But it's definitely in your face about IAP and feels geared towards grinding. I played it when I bought it, but not really motivated to go back and progress further

Interesting that Apple now seems to have started a "Monthly Sale", which currently includes the Castle of Illusion, Boson X, VVVVVV and other apps for $.99.

Castle of Illusion, in particular, was a nice surprise (glad Disney matched the sale price on Android).

Nightmare Cooperative made me nearly miss my stop twice today ;_;

Game is so hard, but it just makes you keep going and going and going and going and going.

Same here, haha. Thought I was done with the formula but this new one has me by the hair. I agree with what FerranMG said, the tweaks make it feel fresh in some ways.

I refuse to get involved with Tiny Tower again. I absolute annihilated the original. It was glorious.

Star Wars totally burned me. I don't really no why. It felt dirty.

Fuck Vegas.

How does VVVVVV controls on an iPhone?
(and also, how do you pronounce it? :D)

The controls are responsive and very well designed. I'd be lying if I said it controlled as well as a controller/keyboard. It doesn't, and there were several instances where I died due to touch controls. But the game is still very playable, and I managed to get all the trinkets using touch.

And be sure to play the Super Gravitron challenge. It is so good

So this Mickey game is on sale for a dollar and it won't run on an iPad 2?! iPad Mini is listed as compatible just fine. Disney can suck it.

The thing that I like about TT Vegas is that they have added elements to it that make it feel more like a game and less like a chore. It's still a chore, don't get me wrong, but they at least make it a little more interesting for you now. I didn't play Star Wars, so I'm not sure if these things were in that version, but it's definitely more engaging for me than the original TT.

So Timberman, now Tower Boxing...

I didn't realize this genre with same engine were a thing. Is there an abundance of these games? At first I thought it was from same dev as games look almost identical.
It's like Flappy Bird or Threes/2048. Dozens upon dozens of clones. Yes, there's a massive abundance of games similar to Timberman

Damn - this game is hard. I really kind of feel I have no idea what I'm doing. What's the point of gathering gold? It seems like I don't have anything to spend it on.

The gold isn't to spend. It's your score essentially. That's the risk and reward. The more gold you get, the higher your score, but every chest you open spawns enemies
