I don't think so, but it's big enough that this is probably a good idea, especially if the PS3 isn't proving to have the PS2's long tail (though given the length of life both had this is actually probably the same basic trajectory when factoring out the times of successor launches.)
Glad to get the nicer looking version, even if I'd have been OK continuing on PS3!

I got sort of a TWEWY vibe from those shots.
The same goes for P3 and P4 main character too.
It is intentional to make them look plain-ish.

You make no sense, Atlus is funding a 360 version of p4a2 specifically for the west and you think there's a chance that they won't bring the ps4 version of p5 over due to QA and cert? LOL

That's what I thought too, which would make it a smaller cast than Persona 3 and 4. Less main characters might mean a tighter focus on each one individually, which I would like.
Are we gonna get a special trailer with another broken shackle each time they reveal a new character or something? Heh.

Sure, though TWEWY was amazing so I'd be alright with similar concepts.

Apparently the newspaper articles and banners in the train are relevant to the tone. They mention bullying, murders, tax increases, etc.
I think it would be good to have a tighter focus on the main characters this time around. I felt like most of the social link stories from the main cast in 4 were kind of meh for the most part. Links that are more tied to the overall story would be fantastic.

We know that the Persona Team has been hard at work on this project ever since Catherine was shipped in Japan.
That was February 17th, 2011, 3 years, 6 months, and 16 days ago.
That's definitely enough time for the Persona Team to finish a project.
My guess is that Persona 5 would have made the Winter 2014 release date if Sony didn't commission a PS4 port.

I wonder if since the game was originally PS3 only, Atlus will simply focus on making the image quality super clean for the PS4 version. If they try to pull off anything like Catherine's look, native res and AA to clean up jagged lines will go a looooooong way.
I seriously hope that same sex relationships are in P5.
Yeah, the school uniform (I assume that is what he is wearing)...is not as good looking as P3/P4's uniforms. Unless that is just his regular attire, and is so..yeesh. Not a good look. I do like his glasses/hair though!

Great news was planning on keeping my PS3 for this game alone but now I can sell it and put the money towards a PS4, MC looks cool though wonder how many party members we'll get this time..

I know QA and cert cost money, I do Localization QA myself. But only doing localization for one of two platform, the one with the weakest momentum of the two into 2015, would be stupid. I have a few friends that didn't get P4 when I told them it released on PS3, because it "was a PS2 game released on PS3. I want PS4 games now". It would be a dumb investment to localize the PS3 version and not the PS4 version.
