Since when?
I remember them saying that the west will see the game before a full year from JP release, but not a worldwide one.

Yeah, seems like I misread it. It was still announced as a world wide release though (even if not at the same time) so surely Persona can do just as much.

PS3: "You've been spending so much time with PS4, you dont like me anymore?"

Me:"Huh? No! We still have Persona 5"

*Persona 5 announced for PS4*

PS3: "FUUUUUUUUUUUU-"

I don't think this title alone is going to translate into a considerable amount of PS4's sold in Japan, I too wouldn't buy a new console for a game I can play on the one I already own.
Plus, I can't imagine the two versions being too different, except for native resolution and loading times.
I'm happy they're releasing it on PS4, and I'm buying this version as soon as it's released.

I think the ps4 version exists more for the west than japan.

For a game that's about living your life while not being held back by the fear of death, the fact the characters point a gun to their head and pull the triggers contradicts the crux of the story. I understand how it makes sense ultimately, where one shouldn't be afraid of dying, but I fail to see how by having Evokers look like guns enforces this point.

Yes, the characters pull the triggers to show they aren't afraid of death. To me, this is tasteless since people do this already and they sure aren't summoning Personas.

Yes, this is a work of fiction. Yes, P3 is a fun game. Yes, it handled its themes well for the most part, but goddamn telling someone its okay to acknowledge death while having a gun (or in this case, a gun-like object) to their head is fucking awful.
You're reaching for something that isn't quite there. You obviously understand what they were going for, but you're looking at it from the hypersensitive point of view instead of the logical, introspective point if view.

Anyway, so glad this is PS4. Literally no reason for me to keep my PS3 around then.

I love it!

If P4's logo was like a TV show, and PQ's is like Scooby- Doo, this one is like 60s era adventure shows like Jonny Quest or Thunderbirds.

I dunno, the logos you cited imo merge somehow with the game style/theme, but this one doesn't fit imo.

That's what I was thinking. There's no way they'd go for a PS4 version thinking it would be a smart business decision for Japan.

I hope this is a sign of them paying more attention to their western fanbase. I'm not saying they didn't before, but this could mean quicker releases etc. Would be great.

Excellent news.

I mean, I figured it it would eventually come to PS4, but moreso like a year or 2 later, the inevitable better version, but now we get it right from the start.

Just not really feeling the look of the main character, really liked the look of the MC for P3 and P4, but dont really like the look of this one. Dunno, maybe its the hair.

I have no problems importing this, but I hope Atlus makes use of BD space and includes dual audio to the game. It's located in Japan anyway and many people want to hear the original voice track.
I don't think disk space comes into it. Atlus US rarely includes the Japanese track in any of their games.

I'm sure there are other factors too, but at least now space won't be one of them.

P4U2 has dual audio which is nice, but I know that's not developed by Atlus.

I didn't buy a PS3 the last gen and I was going to buy it only for P5, now I'm going to wait for a price cut on the PS4.

Thank you so much. I've got the great firewall of China blocking my way with no youtube access!

The only reason why they're releasing it on PS3/4 because it reminds them of P3/4 and you know Atlus can never let go of those two games :p

I was planning on playing this on PS3, but now...

Bloodborne, Final Fantasy XV and Type-0, P5.

This just might be enough to pick up that console.

Is Persona 4 in PSN store? I always wanted to play these, I even got Persona 3&4 for PS2 but my PS2 broke down before I could play them.
edit. seems like it's not available in EU store.

Yes, as a PS2 classic. It's worth getting if you don't have a Vita.

But Persona 4 is only on Vita, right?

I think P3 is available on the PS3, right? I think I'm just gonna wait for P5 anyways, though. Would like to see what a more up-to-date Persona game is like, even if its just on PS3 still.

The PS2 classic version of P4 is on PSN for PS3
