I think I'll buy the 3DS version since I'm not patient enough to wait for the wii U one but I'm afraid of how it will be on my non-XL console :(

Are there positive impressions on this ?

Played it on an OG 3DS and:

The pixel density being higher makes everything look clearer, so resulting in better IQ,
The game is still quite easy to keep track off even when it's zoomed out,
Outlines aren't exactly necessary,
3D surely helps things POP.

Trust me, it plays well on 3DS OG, I own one and will not be upgrading.

Getting all quests complete and then getting all colors of all flowers doesn't take that long? :O I still don't have all the flowers yet.

Luckely you don't have to get ALL of them. only about 60-80% for all the tickets :) iirc

I'd play the gardening one more if mr. mendal would stfu

ikr, he's so annoying the first idk... 20 times you start it up!
But it's probably the deepest of the streetpass games, too though. That's probably why they added so much tutorial crap

Okay, time to talk about the game itself, what's everyone's favourite stage?

Mushroom Kingdom U
It's funny how a series often slammed for boring visuals and locales has so far given me the most appealing looking Smash Bros stage while so far the SMG themed stage is the one that looks a bit ho-hum, a reversal of the reality if you will.
The NSMBU backdrops pop with simple yet strong design, it implements a variety of settings from cloudtops to tower interiors while managing to insert various platforming gimmicks seen in NSMBU to good effect, they don't look too intrusive and should support the game's platform fighting style as well as cameoing Kamek and Nabbit.
Basically it's a great representation of NSMBU and it looks to handle the gimmick side of things well.

Garden of Hope is also looking pretty nice, now where the flippity flop is my gosh darn new DK stage?!

Theres a 3D world stage? The only 3D world stage we should have is Bowser's Bullet Express especially since we've yet to have a Bowser stage in Smash and now we have Bowser Jr. and Koopalings.
I think I got confused. I was thinking of the stage in the Wii U version that Kamek transforms. I guess that's New Super Mario Bros Wii U? Whatever it is, it looks great.
Wasn't she in the final batch of characters? I don't remember playing as her and I know it didn't have the full roster.
She was included in the final batch.

People are crazy to think this PotD confirms more characters.

If you wanted me to, I could easily make a video right now that shows all the Brawl characters unlocked with all-star mode locked.

Paper Mario for me, at least until I can try them all.

Gotta go with Paper Mario too, it's awesome, but I'm intrigued about Gameboy...

In Wii U, Windy Hills looks awesome, but Pilot Wings and New Mario U are close.

I don't really see controversy, love Project M but it's totally logic that other people don't care about it, and the alts are objectively awesome anyway... But I don't think you can put them in normal Brawl, it would take work because it's textures, animations, etc... Take a look around google anyway.
Some people like how PM plays some don't. That's enough for it to be controversial I guess. At least I assume that's why it was listed as 'controversial opinion day'

I know I've seen some model swaps for Brawl before, but even if it were a simple enough mod, I don't even know if the PM developers make their files available individually or not, or maybe that's necessitated by the fact that all the files are in the download anyway.

I'm not really worried about doing it at the moment, just curious.

That's what I thought. If I ever get the chance to play it again, I'll check her out (after Olimar, anyway).
Poor Olimar didn't make the transition well. Most people were really disappointed by him. I'd recommend not playing him until he's fixed.

Exactly!

I think assuming the lock means the CSS is incomplete is a loose connection at best.

But today's PotD doesn't change anything about the implications there. People are getting all excited just because it was even mentioned.

Yeah, this is gorgeous.

I love it. Looks like it could be a very well realized stage.

I'm not really a big fan of the transforming stages in general... but I actually really enjoy the idea they're using in stages like this and NSMB's Wii U place. The stage changes to give an excuse to visit more areas. From the nostalgic perspective, that kind of thing is great. I hope the Gameboy stage does something a lot like that!

If I remember the E3 impressions :
The controls take a little while to get used to, then it's pure bliss.

I like what I'm reading here. Thanks !

Same here. Love my OG.

Preach. Anyone really letting themselves believe the Wii U game has been "gimped" by the 3DS version or vice versa is just precious (not in the good way) and is just looking to rain on people's parade. Best to ignore those people. The 3DS version is great and totally stands on its own as a portable Smash experience.
Really? Of course development of the 3DS version will have impacted on the Wii U game. I mean...they ARE working on both at once, so obviously if either version did not exist we'd likely have a much more polished single game. In the case of the 3DS version never being made, they'd also have been able to play more to the strengths of the Wii U and avoid possibly having to cut characters due to the limitations of the 3DS hardware.

I also think it's fair to say that the Wii U game will be the definitive version. That's not to say the 3DS game will be bad, it's just that there are many advantages the Wii U version will have, especially when it comes to the control scheme. The only real benefit of the 3DS game is its portability, which doesn't mean much for the majority. I agree that there's no point bitching about the 3DS game at this point, because it's already done and our input would never have mattered anyway, and I haven't seen what Sah was replying to, so I don't know if the post was over-the-top or whatever, but I think it's understandable why people could be disappointed that the 3DS version is holding the Wii game back. Because it definitely is.

#TeamLess or #TeamMore

So, the choices break down like this, I presume:

TeamLess: Leaked roster is the entire playable cast.
TeamMore: More characters are yet to be unlocked, but are included in the retail release (Not DLC), as indicated by the Lock icon in All-Star Mode.

Anyone have a link to the original lock image? The one we're comparing this new one to?

God, Pyrosphere is so fucking bland compared to these other stages.
I can't get over the lack of Prime based stages, so many visually fantastic locations to choose from and instead they went to Other M, the land of the bland.
Hell I can already play on Pyrosphere in Dead or Alive Dimensions complete with an intrusive Ridley so this isn't even anything that new to me.

I just got up from a LONG sleep. That pic is definitely interesting for what it implies. I also like that All-Star mode is open from the start. Good way to experience all the characters you have.
But the most interesting thing is this landing lag thing. What's up with that?

And that video contained Bowser Jr, Shulk and Ganondorf, iirc. So they had at least unlocked some characters, but possibly not all (Duck Hunt Dog), right?
It's all the same video, just from different stages of having things unlocked. None of the leakers had the game, just the video. That's why all the DLC leaks were completely made up.

Favorite Stage? Of course it's the new Final Destination! Love that changing. awesome background.

Isn't the Wii U and 3DS one different?

3DS one looks to be more flying around the circumference and atmosphere of planets (and fucking awesome shaders), and the Wii U one appears to be colliding worlds.

God, Pyrosphere is so fucking bland compared to these other stages. What a disappointing choice.

Yeah, it's bland as hell, but ah well. :/

Hopefully the whole #team thing isn't bannable, but if it isn't then i'm on #teammore because I can't lose hope for ice climbers. The other reason is that the CSS just looks/feels incomplete.
