They did end up moving to the Bay Area.
Well, you'd have to be pretty bad at math to think that the US numbers represent nearly twice as many PS4 owners. Yet here you are.

I'd generally agree with that. Obviously the people who were interested in buying MK8 at this point probably went ahead and bought when they could get the free game deal (which has now expired). The more casual audience (who may have missed the free game news entirely) won't start buying until Christmas shopping starts.
They really needed to get another retail game out by now though... as big as Mario Kart is it can't carry the company's software sales for a whole quarter by itself. The eShop lineup has been strong enough to placate people who own Wii U's but obviously someone's not going to buy a Wii U for that.
I guess the good news is they do have games coming out and Q4 is typically Nintendo's strongest by far. Smash is a pretty big one that'll move units.

This is US sales. The Ps4 is not double the Xbone here. The reactions mostly come because Madden was marketed with the Xbone and yet it still sold better on the PS4.

Yup this thread has got very interesting.
Crazy. I figured the exclusive advertising at least would put the XBO version ahead. They literally gave Madden away for free with a $400 XBO and it still wasn't enough. Microsoft can't be happy about that.

Was Madden on the chalkboard? Master Chief Collection is the only shot MS has to win a month this year. I expected PS4 to outsell the bone but this is just a beatdown in MS' best territory. The next half-decade for MS is gonna be pretty sad.
I doubt it. The standalone PS4 versions have been ahead on Amazon for months. Now 360 plus One is a possibility, but I still find it unlikely.

I find it rather interesting that in a month that had the XBone Madden bundle and people potentially holding off for the White/Destiny PS4, the PS4 still stays on top without almost so much as a sweat. It's going to be very hard for MS to turn it around. Especially with that above bombshell.
According to weekly Amazon rankings (see the last pages in the prediction thread) the XB1 sold average sales (50th spot) in week 1, 2 and 3 and better than average (30th spot) in week 4. Considering XB1 sold 130K last month that probably means bundled sales were like 50K and didn't make much of a difference in the grand scheme of things.

My post was based on the assumption the PS4 is ALMOST if not literally doubling the X1 in sales in the U.S. (hence the post in the NPD thread).
But you're right, that'd be pretty stupid of me to say

I'm hoping they're up about 72% gen/gen, purely for my predictions, lol.
To nearest 5K:
70% ~ 255K
71% ~ 295K
72% ~ 335K
70% on the dot would be bad, anything about 72% or higher is at or above my expectations.
I doubt he'd say 75% as "over 70%, so we're probably at 74% up at max.

Given the crazy amount of deals throughout the year and the obvious premature "pricecut," probably not.

Personally I'm of the mind that MS didn't care at all about any region outside the US, UK and like Australia. The way they launched and how they positioned the console makes me think they believed the US and UK were in the bag so to say
As such, their performance in the US has to be hugely disappointing relative to original expectations
