Bubblegum Crisis is on my to-watch list, never seen it.

Well, I don't really know what your anime backlog looks like, but you don't need to worry about bumping it to the top or anything. Bubblegum Crisis is truly a product of it's time and it's interesting on that level as opposed to being a genuinely excellent show.

It does feature some pretty slick sequences, such as this opening to OVA 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfPzSC50JY4

Is Ergo Proxy worth the time investment?
I believe I watched up to episode 8 and suddenly stopped, for reasons I cannot recall since it was some time ago. Saw an image from the show (Joker proxy?) and now

Absolutely not.

Just watch episode 16 "Dead Calm/Busy Doing Nothing"" and be done with it. Don't bother with the earlier, or latter episodes. Ergo Proxy is a failed experiment.

This show has some incredible art much like studio pablo. Studio 4c was always incredibly artistic and their work has a pretty distinct appearance. It always baffled me that they werent more popular than they are.

Tekkonkinkreet was a good movie indeed. There's lots of straightforward allegory and symbolism that serve a narrative purpose, it was hardly mind bending. The art is just amazing, damn, imagine a open world cel shaded game like that. Never heard of Studio Pablo but a google search tells me they worked on background art for anime like Kill la Kill. Can't say the art in that show was something outstanding though. What else have they done?

Pupa

What starts as a typical high school anime that jumps into a gorefest for the ages. Onii-chan and imouto are infected with a virus that turns one into a flesh eating monster and the other into an immortal being whose flesh regenerates. The purpose of this is to feed some sexual fetish of nonstop girl eating brother action.

There is a witch women who knows something about the virus. With the magic of science she conceives a child with Onii-chan and imouto's reproductive organs. An incestuous child created without the act of incestuous sex. Good job anime!

The censoring is all over the place. We see panning shots of bodies ripped asunder yet we censor the act of pulling a knife out of a pocket only to show it in the next shot. The animation is pretty good and the music does a decent job to set the tone. Who doesn't love to hear classical piano during cannibal eating and sexual moaning?

The last episode was very out of place and had nothing to do with the rest of the episodes. I guess even with this much blood we have to end it on a happy note.

I give this an anime a 4/10. It was entertaining to see how ridiculous it got but that doesn't excuse how terrible the characters and plot were so under developed. But when you only have 4 minute episodes I guess the only thing you can hope for is to shock the audience with the limited time you are given.

Pupa suffered grearly from the format. It really should have been standard length. I got frustrated with it and didnt finish.

Bubblegum Crisis is on my to-watch list, never seen it.

Its a great franchise though Im not sure you would particularly like it.

...Metal Gear isn't an anime mate.

Metal Gear is shit therefore it is anime!

Hmm, that sure is disappointing, I liked the premise and setting of it. Anything similar worth watching?

Is it only me or does the quality in the animation of Happiness Charge PreCure the last few episodes has been actually good?

It is my first time watching PreCure , and boy the quality in some episodes is just so bad, but it's been great lately.

I, personally, haven't watched Hap Charge, but as with any long running Toei series, the art will fluctuate greatly depending on the staff involved. Sometimes more effort will be put in for more important episodes, or sometimes you just get lucky with the talent involved.

Noted as well, Jexhius. Here's hoping to a decent watchbet one day!

Absolutely not.

Oddly enough, I think this is where I stopped with Ergo Proxy. I remember gradually losing hope that the show was somehow going to be a thrilling 1984-ish imagining of the future. Then come a bunch of tired anime conventions. Nope.

Is the Order a Rabbit? 01

Cute girls working in a cafe.

Cocoa moves to a new town and gets to work in a cafe with Chino who's the granddaughter of the owner and Azusa Lize who got guns. And the grandfather is some kind of strange rabbit as well. Decent first episode.

Ergo Proxy is one of the few genuinely pretentious anime in existence. It's deeply concerned with name dropping philosophers and attempting to explore their ideas but it does it in such a hamfisted way. It has pretensions of being "art" but it's really just a mess.

"Dead Calm" is an episode that actually explores the characters and their ideas which is why it's great. The rest of the show is far more interested in dealing with ideas and theories, albeit poorly.

Subete no aware
Yama no Susume 9-10

So they start making the climb in these episodes, and I don't want to spoil to much since it's not really "out there" yet, but I just found it hilarious how they kept showing the same two "Americans" over and over again. At least they sound American the few times you get to hear them talk.

Maybe they're just trying to show that people from all over the world come to Japan to climb Mt. Fuji.

Oh yeah, also it costs money to use the toilet. Although it makes sense, assuming that there's no plumbing in the structures on Mr. Fuji.

That explains why I have hard time remembering the structure of the show.

Bubblegum Crisis is quite enjoyable if you like good animation, 80's music and cyberpunk, but otherwise...it basically has many of the typical OVA charms and issues, including not much in terms of resolution. I liked it back in the day, but I wonder if it would actually stand up to a full rewatch.

it been "strengthened" alright

Love Lab 08-13 [END]

I dont really like forced drama at beginning but they end it naturally so it was fine.

so yeah generally pretty funny series. the budget can be nice sometimes (dem fluffy hair) and so many gif-able moment. really enjoy it overall.

I really like how Riko hair is keep changing. rarely too see anime doing that.

Futuristic, post apocalyptic, mystery, psychological (?) - shows with a general "dark" theme
Well, surprisingly, there aren't many anime TV shows that mix those kinds of themes in that kind of arrangement.

In terms of psychological e.g. psychological thrillers you basically have a the movie Perfect Blue but that doesn't fit with anything else you mentioned.

If you're looking for something on the more extreme corner of that genre you'll probably want to watch Serial Experiments Lain.

In terms of mystery-focused shows that are also thrillers (something Ergro Proxy really isn't, despite initial impressions) you should probably watch Monster. It is 74 episodes long though.

In terms of futuristic, dark stories most of them are just kind of shitty action anime that aren't worth your time. You might enjoy Casshern Sins, actually, which is a very well crafted and utterly beautiful series. It's relentless depressing tone does eventually become too much to bear for many viewers.

Texhnoloyze would probably meet most of your needs. It's also a fairly depressing series!

Ergo Proxy was Psycho Pass before Psycho Pass.
I enjoyed Ergo Proxy more than Psycho-Pass though. It's still a terribly designed show whose message goes all over the place and suffers from serious problems but, well, I've watched it twice and yet couldn't get past Psycho-Pass's first episode.

I think you are going to enjoy this show. Seems right up your alley, but I could wrong.

Is that complaining? ;o

Honestly, with that—in my opinion rather lacking—character design this 'ass-shot' was like looking at some small (badly dressed) child's ass. I have a hard time imagining someone finding that shot very alluring. But that's what you get when your important teen protagonists dont' seem to age and look totally different from the unimportant people.

Also just what the fuck is that shot. This fucking show man, it's killing me.

To be frank though, I just can't stop grinning throughout watching it it's just so gloriously stupid. That said, I'll watch into one episode of the next arc which supposedly "is the first 'actually' good thing the author wrote" and will most likely stop then.

Also what's with all the people saying (or were saying) Sinon is a good character. I mean she's initialized as someone with actual characteristics, a background story and goals. But by now...she's basically fucking Kirito already. Holy hell, Kirito you destroyer of characters.

ONII-SAMA the Animation 24

Onii-sama with a very harsh take no prisoners stance this episode.

So, Miyuki's incestuous forehead kiss to Onii-sama allowed him to unlock his full potential or some shit? What is that, is she like the Super Kami Guru of incest?
DOES INCEST GIVE YOU SUPERPOWERS???
That explains a lot about this show.

Don't think I'd ever say this for anything but this episode made me wish I was watching Captain Earth instead. I'm shocked at myself for making it so far in this series.

Well, it was inevitable but still.
Next one is the last episode right?
I anticipate feels.

It's cheaper than the import set, so it's a bit tempting to get it. It's still a big commitment though, buying the series in installments. I'll wait a bit before deciding.

Is the Order a Rabbit? 02

A new friend and lots of normal looking rabbits.

Cocoa's navigation skills seems to be low, there's bread making, and then there's another strange rabbit. At least everybody are friends now and not rivals like in the old days.

Just how Powerful is he? that ending..

Just saw the episode , they did well with this episode considering what they had to adapt.

See a character powerfull , well he is more powerfull than that.

Explanation for those who care
tatsuya a has several habilities , all of them are broken-tier. but they are SO BROKEN he doesn't use them because miyuki is acting as the seal of those.
In short tatsuya => uber super powerefull being
Miyuki => control for said being. The trick is that tatsuya #1 feelign is to protect miyuki.
The other trick is that they share a mind link that allow them to share a bit of those habilities and to boost them. Exemple is this episode where miyuki used tatsuya mind sight so she could know where to aim her ice magic.
