Games you remember, names you don't

Browser based game, first person perspective. Main theme is glitchiness monochrome wireframe looking graphics that morph in and out of view as you move around and try to solve puzzles.

No but this looks really good.

Not Super Heroine Chronicles is it? I'm not getting stairs but I am seeing cutesy snipers on occasion.

Tactical isometric 2D with 3D segments.

Not this one either..

I just spent 4 hours looking through kotaku articles and google image lists, and I'm feeling like I'm just not meant to find this game right now... :\
It had more of a futuristic look to it, instead of a medieval period one. So it was more tech and guns and no magic. I wonder if it was a turn-based isometric action strategy hybrid. I remember the article saying something like you could activate some kind of slow-mo effect to stop time, but I could be mixing up my details at this point.

ah frustrated.

Nope, it was in English. And my friend really appreciates the help!

I looked through a ton of C64 and Apple II adventure and management games (there really are a lot of them) but I couldn't find it, sorry.

There are a few that I played back when Mac OS 8 or 9 was a thing (before OSX) I think the name of the company was Joshua Software or something like that and it was a one person dev.

He made a pretty addicting game that I can't find anymore its about this bat who lost the ability to fly so you jump onto these platforms that make you bounce up and you collect cookies for points because the bat apparently was addicted to cookies.

The dev also did a couple of games that were fun but I don't remember their names anymore its been literally close to 15 years since I played them.

Never had any kind of Mac myself so I can't really help from memory, I looked quite a bit for it but didn't run into a game with a bat. You could check out http://macintoshgarden.org/, maybe you'll at least run into some of the other games you mentioned.

Probably not, but check out Hyper Goddess Faith Noire: Ultra Goddess Black Heart, it's a spinoff of the Neptunia series. If that's not it, does it at least match the game graphically?

It was a war game probably for the Ps1 or Ps2. I remember that there were a few soldiers, and on this one mission there was tunnels, rock tunnels. You could even use night vision in this game.

I know it is so vague but this is literally all I can remember.

I'm not expecting anyone to know what I'm talking about uuggghh

Mediocre racing game (from my memory) on the N64 whose graphics where not that great even by the N64s standards. It did however have a ridiculously awesome "Stunt" level that turned the game into Tony hawk with cars, it was awesome and you could do hilarious flips and spins with the cars once you started getting good at it. It was pretty much the only part of the game worth paying any attention to and I don't remember much of anything about the racing part.

Spec-Ops or Delta Force?

Early 90's PC game. Isometric. You were playing some red robot guy with a gun? Don't think it was turn based. There were occasionally some enemies who looked like the bipedal robot from Robocop

I am not 100% sure on this but this sounds a lot like Crusader: No Remorse (also heard there was a game called Crusader: No Regret, but I do not know if this is the same game or a sequel)

Edit: never mind someone already answered, was too late! thanks for enlightening me :)

Ok I'm offering a prize for a successful naming of this game.

I remember seeing a demo vid, I think on Kotaku, but can't remember.
It was a 3D type tactical shooter that was turn based, I believe. I also think it had a female protagonist, and an anime type look to it. I remember seeing a lot of stairs, and I think you fought against enemies with some kind of tactical sniping or shooting mechanic.

I remember the demo fighting scene at night, I think there was an anime-type glasses girl.

it is not legend of alfur. Or the cutesy game where the little moeblob blows up giant walking teapot robots.

Depending on the success of me being able to purchase this game for PC, I happen to have a spare Wasteland 2 steam key laying around. So...plz halp

(disclaimer - if the game is found, but I can't buy it for some reason or it's not on PC, there is still a lesser prize available, for easing my mind.)

was gonna say either resonance of fate, any of the valkyria chronicles, tokitowa/time and eternity, or black dock shooter psp or capcom's e.x. troopers.

Okay so I doubt anyone will be able to figure out what game I'm trying to remember the name of, but it's worth a shot.

It was an MMO, played it maybe in 2010 or so. Was probably like Japanese or Korean or something like that. Unfortunately, all I remember about the game was that the tutorial was on some sort of island and there was like a village on the island and stuff. I also remember you could summon companion monsters. I believe the low-level one was like a slime of some sort.

Yeah, that probably describes every generic MMO ever, but it's been bothering me for a bit.

There was this old FF 7 parody game. I had it on a mac sometime around 2000. Was pretty short, a bit funny had similiar graphics and the gameplay wasn't too shabby. Can't remember the name for the life of me. Might have been a download only title too. I think it might've been freeware.

There was a game for PS1, It was like a bunch of mini games, one of them you had to hit things over the head, like two characters that looked a little weird. Had a strange name too, something short but weird. That's all I have :/

Might of asked this before too I dunno but, another this time for the SNES, was a racing game, like formula one, but it was in Japanese, or part of it was anyway, the music is really nostalgic for me when the credits rolled, i can hear it in my head right now.

No, :( thanks for trying. I really want to know what game it was. IIRC you had allies. But I'm not 100% sure. I just remember entering tunnels, and it seems that the game had sequels and was somewhat widely known.

Edit: it had to be Ps2, not Ps1.
SOCOM?

Always PS1 demos that I forget the name of but would love to play again. I remember a 3D fighting game set in some hills that I loved, can't remember the name or issue number for the demo disc at all.

Star Wars game for ps1 that was a co-op Jedi game where you run around on naboo and chop up droids... It was a somewhat top down game.

ok, last try: how about Tokitowa?

Already mentioned :\ and no. This one actually has the indie look, sort of retro anime graphics, but the gameplay is off. The game I saw is like a mix of this, and Resonance of Fate, with multiple characters in a party, and tactical style turn based battles mixed with real time.

And specifically a sort of neo-tokyo look, with a sniper scope view for one of the support characters' attacks. (I guess the sniper characteR)

Bishi Bashi Special. The best party game created ever!

It was an old arcade game that I played at Coney Island. Basically, you pilot a red ship and have to go through checkpoints, also at pit stops you get upgrades. For the life of me I can't remember the name, but always thought it to be pretty cool.

Was it a realistic war shooter? Do you remember whether it was first or third person? I take it that it's not SOCOM? Do you remember which kind of era it took place in; i.e. first world war, modern war, sci-fi, etc?

An upcoming or possibly recently released indie game. It's a 2D hack and slash game with a focus on combos like in DMC. It has a similar look to Madworld (the only colours are black, white, and red).

The only thing I have found so far is Gravia Tactics.

It wasn't SOCOM, nor Red Faction. I cannot remember when it took place but I believe you were fighting terrorists. The game played similar to Dealta-Force, but it isn't that. Unless there are different variations of Delta-Force. Trying to find out what game this was is killing me.

Edit: all I can remember is one mission. I was entering a rock tunnel, it was raining, and night vision was available.

Got it; it's S.T.U.N Runner

First person? Third person? It definitely had sequels?

EDIT: crap, somebody mentioned it already :D

A customer asked about this, and this is all he remembers.

- PS1 game
- Mario Kart-esque racing game
- Cartoony look
- He only clearly remembers boat racing, not sure if there are other driving types (like go-karts).
- He remembers a map that would appear on-screen between races to show your process.

He swears it's not RC Revenge or super-obvious stuff like Crash Team Racing. He thinks he would recognize the cover.

Any leads?

Motor Toon Grand Prix? I don't think it has any boat racing though. It's the only cartoon-like racing I can recall for the PS1.
