Wii U: new firmware update released (5.2.0) - Folders!

Count me in the Who Cares crew. I don't even know what I'd use folders for. There's tons of room for apps and games to go as is. (I guess I just can't fathom having that many games for the system only two years in. And this is the system I've obtained the most software for at this point in its life cycle, with 7 games total)

Far more pressing things we're waiting to hear on from Nintendo, although every new feature is better than nothing.

Woooooo, I just transferred a bunch of stuff into a hard drive the other day and it disorganized the hell out of everything. The folder hype is real!

Yeah I don't get it either.

What's the big deal about folders?

The ability to neatly organise the home screen by category without having to separate apps across pages (which is fine at first but eventually leads to reshuffling nightmares).

Post pics of your organized home screens, boys!

(you can take screenshots of the home screen, can't you? /Non owner)

Screw folders!!

Improvements to system stability

original

Disabled usage of characters not used when redeeming Nintendo eShop cards (O, I, Z, etc.)

I think this is a bigger deal to me than some folders.

I guess the joy (even though clearly exaggerated by most) is from people who have a lot of eShop games AND like to stay organized, which does admittedly suck without folders, as you have to do a lot of shifting and moving of icons when adding something new. Now you can have a NES folder, SNES, etc.

I assume you're referring to retail titles only? I can easily see someone in need of more space if they've given the Virtual Console/DL-Only titles some love. (Which is my case)

I do agree we're in dire need of a Direct.

Even then, being able to shift the useless shit (Hulu in Canada? kek) away is great.

Wii U is the first next-gen console with folders. I bet Sony and Microsoft are panicking right now.

Nintendo annihilating Sony at the firmware game with folders and everything. Holy snaps. Not only that, they got system stability out the fuckin wazoo. Big N, keep doin yo thang.

Yes!

But are the folders stable enough?
The Wii U's superabundance of stability can be allocated however you wish. If your folders need extra stability, add as much as you like.

Personally, I depend on my Wii U for emotional stability while I wait for Bayonetta 2.

OMG it's finally happened! Folders are the greatest UI feature to ever be introduced to the 3DS, so it's welcoming to have it on the Wii U

Oh CREATE FOLDER OPTION!! Name it as well.

EDIT:
- change colour of folder
- opens up a new menu
- change name
- Folder has up to 4 screens
- Add folder option is on every screen after the first screen of apps or subsequent ones that you have not filled
