Played some of it last night and I loved it. Not having a shield changes the dynamic a lot more than I thought it would and I love everything about the atmosphere and setting. It seriously needs some anti-aliasing, though.

I love how it went back to everything feeling like it has weight to it. You have to actually react in good time for your dodges and counters. It really does feel like Demon's Souls 2!

Played it for a while last night. Game is coming along nicely and looks to be everything we've been hoping for.

Quick question though for those who've played...is it just me or do you now have to HOLD R1 to riposte properly? I could just be remembering wrong, but I always thought it was just a tap in DeS/DS.

And also, it seems riposte only works with one form of the primary weapon (I couldn't get it to work with the saw cleaver in its elongated form).

I didn't notice that I had to hold it, but it does seem like if you attack too early, before the stagger animation is finished, you'll just do a regular attack.

Weird. My timing must have been off. I could never get it to work with a tap, but whenever I held R1 instead, it worked every time.

Game looks amazing but I won't hide my disappointment with the corpse physics. Some people say it's fun and adds a lighthearted silliness, but I get totally pulled out of the trick. And with the game looking so moody and grim I think they need to change it. Pleeeease.

I fucking love the physics, it's one of my most desired features in fact.

That's great news...I liked DeS the best out of the 3.

Wow is that thing creepy. Man, I love this game's art style. I watched some streams and it looks great. Its combat was just as weighty as dark souls right? I can't wait for February!
 
4. Yeah, they still have R2 attacks.

7. Yes, that's it. If I could have thought of the word "clasped" I would have used it initially. There are some attacks where the hands are separate, I think, but the default stance is fist clasped in hand.

Got it. Thanks again. The only question I have left is what the meter under the bullet icon is. In a stream I saw it go from full to half full when a player unequipped his right hand weapon, but it didn't fill again when he re-equipped it, so I have no idea if that was the cause, could have been a coincidence. I'm still wondering about the glowing eyes too, but that's probably representing a system that isn't complete in the alpha so a full picture of it is impossible.
 
For anybody who's played it, how does the music sound? Is it more like Demon's/Dark Souls where it's orchestrated, or is it similar to Dark Souls 2?

Oh my god, you Souls fans. I've never talked with anyone who agrees. Why would you want that OR call it a "feature"?
It's amusing to see and the only legitimate problem I have with them is when items are bound to corpses and they fall off a cliff. Or through the floor as happens 9/10 times in the Gutter seriously what the hell shouldn't the game just read it as a flat, complete surface rather than something everything will fall through?

How's the IQ?

Average for a PS4 game. The product right now is very "FROM Software" in the way it looks and runs. Remember what happened in Demons Souls when you rolled into a bunch of boxes and broke them? Same shit in Bloodborne, but the fps is actually worse.
 
The other games in 2015 have no chance at taking GOTY from Bloodborne.

and I'm a huge Monster Hunter fan. MH4U might as well not even exist.

if the new zelda makes it out in 2015 and is really good ima be a very conflicted man as this and zelda are my 2 most anticipated games od 2015.

Silly corpse physics should be a toggle in the options to please everyone.

Afaik no. But I'd love to be wrong. I would think they'd want to do a gradual testing thing and add more people each day they're doing it, but I don't think they did for the Dark Souls II beta. =/
