I hope it's Japan :D

Would work well in the Drift challenges,exploring Japan as a location and I would love me some Nissan 370Z NISMO;

I was planning to wait for the PS+ version since I'm not the biggest fan of the racing genre, but I'm even less of a fan of the aggressive shitposting-with-an-agenda genre. I pre-ordered last night because of all the hate, and because Evolution has obviously poured a lot of passion into this project.

If it keeps up at this pace I'll be buying a season pass, too, and I've never done so for any game in history.

Man, I was a little upset about the whole wheel thing, but I can't deny the hype at this point. I'm not even going to bother downloading the PS+
crippled
edition, since I'm certain this is going to turn out solid. I just don't have it budgeted thanks to half a dozen other pre-orders (that may or may not change, but they all come after DC). I have a copy of MLB: The Show 2014 that I played twice, and I'm thinking about trading it in somewhere to get cash for DC.

Does anyone know where the best place to do that is? I haven't ever bothered selling games outside of eBay before, and I know sports titles drop faster than almost any other game. I can get general prices at Target, GameStop, Amazon, etc., but I don't know if there's a way to squeeze a few extra bucks out or something. I looked halfassedly for a deal thread first (and I browsed CAG a bit), so sorry if this is out of place.

I am leaning towards the PSN version, it just feels weird not owning a disc. It would also mean I can play when I'm off instead of getting the game on Wednesday when I have to start my work week.

Oh jeez. The scumbaggery on display :S

God. That just reminded me of everything I loathe about racing games. If that's the norm, I can't imagine playing much online and that's what I really want to do.

It doesn't really look like the game penalises people for that kind of crap either, plus it looks like the cars get spun off pretty easily by a knock (which is all fine and dandy from a realism point of view and not remotely fine and dandy if people are going to be rewarded for being complete pricks).

It will i mean the game isn't out yet and we already 70+ pages in 10 pages less than other racing game which been out for a week now if am not mistaken, clearly the interest AND concern is there

Did you buy an Xbox One too? Every time it launches in a new country it gets an "lol look at those lines nobody wants an Xbox One" thread. It seems like a strange choice to buy something simply because people troll it. I'll try Driveclub when it hits PS+ and decide from there. It seems more rational to me to decide that way.

But the IGN guys said there's no hype for this game, the Crew has more hype...

Speaking of which, viveks I hope your hype train still has some steam left :D

I've tried to slow down my posts a bit the last days, but I simply can't wait for Wednesday to get my hands on this game. Rapier's continued impressions and videos did not make the wait any easier.

One of the most interesting GIFs and they play it in the 3rd person view -_-

Have we seen any weather footage from first person? I remember hearing kinda recently that the wipers were still being worked on, so I'd assume they're maybe trying to hide first person footage with it not being done maybe?

i don't know how some people play in 3P view for driving games if there's other view options available.

Some people say that it makes it easier for them to be aware which I understand, but I like the bonnet or in car views. That's just how I've been racing since Gran Turismo lol

I have no clue on this.

That video of driving reminds me of the times I went online with F2, F3, and F4 on the 360. People racing with the best vehicles using each other as guard rails and for braking assistance.

Since I'm at work basically doing nothing, I'll post a summary of my thoughts so far:

- Graphics are really good. There is aliasing, however; though it's not much. Lighting effects are simply unmatched. It changes accordingly during the race and changes the whole 'feel' of the race.
- Controls are the best in a racing game for me. I'm not a big fan of sims as it's too complicated for me, but I always enjoyed a lot of arcade racers: Test Drive, NFS, etc. The controls are exactly what they said, somewhere between a sim and an arcade racer.
- I just LOVE the way challenges are presented to the player! Beating other players' score is really awesome and gives more reason to keep trying again and again.
- The UI in general is excellent. As is the menu music.
- The difference between each car is incredible. It really works really well to show the strengths and the weaknesses of each vehicle.
- The sound! Oh my GAWD the sound of the cars and environment is superb.

If I were to complain about something, is the fact that customization is very limited. I wish we could design our own liveries and change wheels, exhaust, etc. like in Forza.

Otherwise the game is 90+ material easily.

Wow, this certainly makes me glad that I have quite few friends who like playing racing games, while I don't ever expect clean racing online I also dislike playing against people who are determined to take others out even at their own expense.

Whats funny is that even his own team-mate (red team) turns away from the direction of where the track is going just to take him out at around the 3min 10sec mark in that video.

Just buy the disc when it's super cheap and $10.

Seriously. I may end up getting the season pass sooner than later.

It really does seem like this shit happens with every Sony exclusive.

I'm 11! My car in DC is #11... and my birth day is the 11th. LOL

Thanks for the impressions man, sounds great. I wonder if some of the vehicle customization options could be enhanced in future via patches
