Bit scared of when the AC theme drops as will it be a pack that randomly rotates or are they all individual packs...

The new menu UI is what they showed on the system when they announced it, so most likely. They're probably just throwing NA and EU a bone by opening the theme shop because new 3DS doesn't launch until next year.

Well I bought a theme to try it out after watching Nintendaan's video.
No no, not that Hanafuda theme. I should've went with the Zelda theme, but nope. I also didn't go for the Luigi Theme who is my favorite Mario character. D:
Which theme could I have possible gotten?!
Can't wait to see the music of the SS, AC, and Rosalina Themes. Hope for a Fire Emblem theme, a theme with the Smash 4 Menu music, and a theme that plays the Luigi's Mansion 2 ringtone. Gonna buy some themes just for different menu music, seriously best update in awhile. Love that I can buy menu music now!
Also the eShop is so much improved. I'm honesly surprised at how quick and snappy the eShop and themes are now. Nintendo doesn't do updates that add new system features often, but when they do they go all the way!

The Mighty Mushroom one. Having the Toad Item House as the music sold me.

There was zero reason for it to be as slow as it was before, there's nothing really intensive going on and it only needs to download images and metadata (unlike the Wii U eShop, which is HTML, the 3DS eShop UI is part of the app). It was purely sloppy programming and it seems Nintendo finally got their developers to do things right.

You think so? I like the background, but overall I think the color scheme is weird. That burgundy framing doesn't look right to me.

I was so excited until I tried it in Smash Bros...I suppose Nintendo think the one called Miiverse is universal despite being:
-useless unless you shackle your 3DS with an NNID
-useless offline
-useless for some games in any case (Smash Bros and Pokemon, at the least the former has a good software version, no Pokemon 5 locations to takes pics in the overworld is crap)
Edit:Being able to use buttons to access the top bar is useful. No more having to grovel for a stylus just to change the brightness or read notifications.
Thanks! At first I was a bit disappointed that Mario wasn't showing up on the fully zoomed out grid, then I realized he's just hiding! The default themes are really good too. The black one was my favorite. The Hanafuda looks really clean too. Augh! So many options now!

Now if you could post home menu shots to miiverse... People would compose all kinds of things with folder letters and Face Raiders.
I love it. I was skeptical but once I installed it it looked and sounded amazing.

I love that the theme comes really close to matching my cards.
Edit: I just noticed the crane has been "evil Kirby'd" on the 3DS theme compared to the original Japanese card. *laughing*

I like the way the home screen looks now, but they need more themes in he shop. Would buy a Metroid or Pokemon theme instantly.

Hopefully they'll release a theme creator program soon. I want to make a Meteos Theme to match the one I made on my PS3.

I think that's intentional considering Nintendo's history.
Red & Gold were the original trademark colors. (It's also just a popular traditional color palette.)
Sell more themes.

Hmm it might have glitched local streetpasses as well. This morning spare system (previous owners NNID & digital bvounty so I'm weary of taking it online) which was not updated got streetpasses from my main but in return my main got nothing.
I think last night it worked but that may have been before I updated the main.
They closed Swapnote because of what people were sharing not what people were making in the confines on their own home.
