The base game ($20) now includes every expansion but WoD? WoW.
Yup! It's a great time to start up and see the new things.
lol was about to buy MoP yesterday, good thing I didn't!

600K in one quarter sounds like a pretty big swing. Why so volatile?
a pokemon MMO would totes kill WoW
come on Nintendo
Real social interaction? Actual grind for gear? Epics tbat were actually epics?
Vanilla WoW blew my mind like no other game has before, BC was good, but i felt like some of the charm was lost, and finally quit before WoTLK was released.
I said the same thing about a newa pokemon MMO would totes kill WoW

Still nowhere as good as Vanilla WoW.
Miss those days.
I had some similar feelings to this once. I didn't necessarily think it was better, but I remembered some things with thick nostalgia goggles.
Then I downloaded a 1.12 build during Cata and played on a private server. For about 30 minutes before I realized this shit was beyond awful now.
I've tried numerous MMO over the years (FFXI, XIV, GW, a bunch of free to play) but none of them were entertaining for very long, I usually played about 20-40 hours then quit. I've never tried WoW tho, tempted to give it a try
I too miss days of months on end rep farming, resist stacking, and one viable spec per class.
there was a lot wrong with classic WoW but it got a lot right too. people just tend to gloss over what it got wrong.
Saw tons of people playing yesterday. High population PvE servers like Thrall are packed in the main cities even in the later hours right now.
I'm really liking the gameplay changes so far and how active suddenly the big cities and tradechat is now. I just hope Blizzard has a way figured out to prevent another drought like with Siege of Orgrimmar from happening or I am afraid those subs will be mostly gone again by the beginning of 2015.
THey need a better content strategy so that they dont have this huge gaps.
What it got wrong overshadowed what it got right. Honestly WoW was pretty much broken until WotLK. The game was terribly balanced for a long time.
Look to Wildstar to see what happens to MMOs that think they can survive only appealing to hardcore players. Most MMOs including WoW have adappted for the better.Still nowhere as good as Vanilla WoW.
Miss those days.
I still feel like WoW is unhealthy for the MMO market in that its saturation stops progressions, but I'm slowly being proven wrong on that with MMO's coming out recently that have tried to do new things and have succeeded in some form.
Good on Blizzard though. For a near 10-year old game it is starting to age but at the same time it probably is the best time to jump in.
I know for a fact I'm coming back after having avoided MoP.Biggest mmo for 10 years and not slowing down sure sometimes it takes a nose dive in subs but the new patch and expansion on the horizon will bring new and old players back. Today EU can play patch 6.0 i am going to enjoy it for sure.

My second favorite WoW login song. I can't believe they managed to pull it off.
I mostly avoided it because I thought the various other MMOs coming out between its start and end would be enough. I tried to get into something my IRL friends were also into, but they can never stick to a single game for all that long, and none of them will give WoW a shot. So this expansion I'm avoiding trying to follow them around, and just sticking to what I know I love.MoP was great one of the better expansions i played after Wotlk it was fun a lot.

You don't need to group up. Also pick a gathering progression like mining and get loads of money quickly as process are high, making it easy to buy a mount and so onIt might be tough to start fresh now without the ton of newbies also leveling around you, as for as finding groups and all that.
As someone who's been playing for a straight decade, vanilla WoW was fucking terrible. Grinding out stupid Nature Resistance for Huhu. Oh hey don't have Onxyia scale cloak, guess I'm dying to Nefarian free. It's the 15th straight Molten Core run and Giantstalker still hasn't dropped, look at all this healing plate that only one guy can use!
Seriously, fuck vanilla WoW.

No doubt there's way too much nostalgia. Hey guys, let's stack fire and nature resist for a few fights. Wasn't that long ago we were stacking shadow resist gear too.

I think the two games would serve different purposes and coexist happily... and those WoW players who might be interested in a light Pokemon fix are catered for.

Thats like your opinion man.
Vanilla wow was my greatest gaming experience EVAR.
Now that Titan is cancelled everyone is reluctantly re-subbing.
