So those two guys managed to get a personal visit inside SNK of USA back in 1995 and they brought a camera with them. Check out all those lined up arcade cabinet, all those techs working on games, tshirts, exciting shots of desk, a warehouse visit and MUCH MORE. This kind of visit would never happen in 2014 ;_;

I really enjoyed that, thanks.

You are right, this kind of video would not be possible today, everything is so different.

the nineties are starting to look like the eighties
The weird thing is, the 90's ARE more like the 80's because after 2000 a lot of things drastically started to change, from social norms to politics to how business is conducted to technology... that's why it is always fun to watch these videos.

There's a few more pictures of their visit & some stuff they got here.

I wonder how they were able to visit and meet all those people. Part of a contest or something?

Really is a great video, thank you for posting this OP.

What a different time it was back then. I have such great memories of SNK and it's cool to see how open and friendly they were at the office.

I remember being excited about things like 2x speed CD drives lol.

And that was even before respected pearls like KoF98, Garou or Last Blade - I can only imagine the gidiness had this been a few years later.

simply amazing. It would have been cool if they caught a competitive match of 95, Fatal Fury Special, or SamSho II being played. I was always curious about the competition for SNK fighters back then.

Was this the building on Great Oaks Blvd. in San Jose?

I remember first driving past it around the time I got a Neo Geo Pocket Color and took it as some type of sign. A few years later, the portable tanked and the SNK sign was off the building.

EDIT- I guess not. Torrance.

I think the early 90's are a lot like the 80's. Things started changing a little earlier than 2000, though. AOL was blowing up around 1995. The Nokia 3210 came out in 1999. There were a lot of changes happening in the 90's.

This might be an almost 20 year old video, but I drive that 95' Honda Accord that was next to the S Class and a cousin of mine has that same model Camry. I wish we could say the same about SNK. :(

Also, dat ass zoom.

Just reminds me of how awesome and fan-oriented SNK was. I remember writing them a letter in the early 90's. Not only did they write back but they sent marketing materials for the Neo Geo, a Samurai Shodown II poster and a complete list of AES games you could order direct from them.

It's a shame the company wasn't able to transition well into the next-generation. I think the Neo Geo itself still could be used if it didn't succumb to piracy. Every year they seemed to crank out more juice from the system. Prob my favorite video game company of all time.

That's awesome, was it a competition or something that got them a tour? The lady is kicking some serious ass on the machines at about 5 minutes in!
